골굴사의 선무도 문화콘텐츠 활용 현황과 발전방안 = A Study on the Use of Seonmudo of Golgulsa temple and the Development of Seonmudo as the Cultural Contents

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This is a study of the use state of Seonmudo as cultural content and the development plan. The historical temple Golgulsa, located in Yangbuk-myeon, Gyeongju, is a head temple of Seonmudo, the Korean traditional martial art. Golgulsa temple has developed various contents with Seonmudo, and has become a representative korean temple. Golgulsa is, now, also famous for Templestay. For 30 years, Jeok-un, the chief monk have managed Golgulsa, He has held the traditional martial arts competition and the temple concert for 13 years. Besides, total attendance at the Four Devas Show has topped 298,375 people for 5 years. Also Templestay of Golgulsa drew participants totaling 620,000 for last 5 years. Among them, there have been 8,496 foreign people. Furthermore, he has found 16 local branches of Seonmudo and 10 overseas branches. OSMU(One Source Multi Use) lies beneath the notable successes of Golgulsa with Seonmudo. A simple Buddhistic martial art has been specialized and popularized as a healing, educational and entertaining program. Therefore Seonmudo has become the cultural icon of Korea. Now, Golgulsa’s status rose to compared to Sorimsa of China. This study organizes the achievements of Golgulsa, and proves how Seonmudo has become a typical content of Korean Buddhism. Also suggests various ways to become a more international brand and to get a more high value for Seonmudo.
