한 정신지체 특수학교 고등부 졸업생들의 삶에 관한 어머니들의 보고 = Mothers' reports on the life situations of their grown-up sons and daughters with intellectual disabilities

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the life situations of young adults with intellectual disabilities who graduated from special school within the recent years. For this purpose, a total of thirteen mothers of young adults with intellectual disabilities participated in focus group interview because we believed that their mothers had abundant stories about the lives of their grown-up sons and daughters as well as theirs. The scripts of interview were analyzed and the three themes and twelve subthemes were emerged. The themes emerged were (1) present life states of young adult with intellectual disabilities (2) past special school days of young adult with disabilities, (3) support needs for their future conditions of them. Finally, several specific implications for the development of supports and community integration programs and transition education in special education based on the results were provided.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 정신지체 특수학교를 비교적 최근 졸업하여 특수교육 성과에 대한 논의거리를 제공할 수 있는 정신지체 청년들의 졸업 후 삶의 모습과 그에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 어머니들의 보고를 통하여 살펴봄으로써 향후 이들 및 가족에게 요구되는 지원과 특수교육 분야에 대한 시사점을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구참여자는 B 정신지체 특수학교 졸업 후 3~5년이 경과한 정신지체 청년들의 어머니 13명이었으며, 졸업연도별로 한 집단씩 3개의 집단을 구성하여 핵심집단면담(focus group interview)을 실시하였다. 면담내용에 대한 분석 결과, 정신지체 청년의 현재 삶의 모습에 영향을 미치는 요인들로, (1) 현재 삶의 현장에서의 요인들, (2) 특수교육 경험, (3) 요구되는 지원이라는 3가지 주제와 그에 따른 각각의 하위 요소들이 도출되었다. 향후 정신지체 청년들의 지역사회 적응과 장애 당사자 및 가족을 위해 요구되는 지원 및 특수교육의 전환교육 분야에 방향성을 제시하기 위해 각각의 연구결과들에 대해 구체적으로 논의하였다.
