치위생과 학생의 MBTI성격유형과 학업성취도의 관계 = The relationship between MBTI personality types and the Academic Achievement levels of Dental Hygiene Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the MBTI personality types of dental hygiene students and their academic achievement. The aim was to identify the individual personality characteristics of students and explore methods that could help improve academic achievement. 232 enrolled dental hygiene students from M university voluntarily participated in the study from september 1st to 22nd, 2023 and were surveyed for the research. The research findings indicated that among dental hygiene students, there are four preferred tendencies of personality-introversion(I), sensing(S), thinking(T), and Judging(J) and the students with these traits demonstrated higer academic performance showing statistically significant differences. based on the functions of personality types, sensing-thinking types scored the highest, while intuition-feeling types scored the lowest showing statistially significant differences regarding the temperament-based personality types, students classified as sensing-judging showed a significantly higer average score of 4.14 compared to other groups, demonstrating ststistical significance. among the 16 personality types, ISTJ scored the highest with ah average of 4.34 out of 5, and differences in academic achievement were observed between judging and perceiving types. these results could aim to develop teaching strategies, provide learning supports and conduct academic consultation based on the personal personality traits of dental hygiene students.
