인체의 제스처에 나타난 일상성 표현연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간을 중심으로 반복되어지는 현상들은 현대사회의 모습을 반영한다. 연구자는 일상생활과 도시환경을 일상성(Allteglichkeit)과 연결 지어 사람들의 모습에서 나타나는 제스처를 고찰하였다. 이에 촬영한 각 사진의 이미지들은 시공간에서 일어나는 조화와 균형 속에서 실행하는 삶의 포착이자 단순한 시각적 포착보다 어떤 느낌의 포착을 의미한다. 예상치 못했던 모순된 상황과 개인적인 자극의 요소로 인한 여운들이 만드는 순간, 이러한 우연과 만남을 기록한 것이다.
관람자는 작가가 현실에서 대상을 선택해 선별하여 표현한 작품화면 속 공간을 단일적인 시공간으로 재인식하여 받아들이고 주변에서 인식하지 못한 일상생활 속에 모습을 확인한다. 이는 사진이 지닌 매체의 특성을 이용한 회화성의 확장과 작품을 인상짓게 하는 소통의 영역이다. 작품에서 일상의 오브제들은 시대적, 공간적 배경을 그대로 표현하고 있다. 이는 모더니티를 반영하고 있으며 자신의 경험에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 현실세계를 제공하고 있는 것이다. 작품에서 사람들의 제스처를 집중시키기 위한 요소로서 선의 조형을 도입하여 스티치드로우와 라인드로잉을 혼용하였다. 이는 사람들의 관계를 연결하고 제스처의 동적인 느낌을 강조하여 표현하고자 한 것이다. 이러한 수작업은 작가의 서정적인 여감을 다변적인 텍스추어의 섬유매체를 통해 드러내고자 하였다.
본 연구에서는 첫째, 현대사회의 일상성에 대한 고찰을 통해 현대인의 삶의 형태를 살펴보았다. 사회학자 앙리 르페브르의 일상성을 바탕으로 대중문화는 반복된 일상을 통해 형성된 지속성을 가지고 있으며, 시대적 환경을 가진다는 것을 확인하였다. 작품에 나타난 오브제들은 일상성을 나타내며 동시에 현대사회를 이해할 수 있는 현대성을 가지고 있는 것을 살펴보았다.
둘째, 일상생활은 사회와 개인을 유지시키고 존속시키는 삶의 토대가 된다. 개인은 다양한 관계 속에서 소속감도 형성하며 소통하고 있다. 연구자의 작품에서 일상의 인물들은 삶이라는 공통된 배경 안에서 관람자가 대입할 수 있는 공통적 연결점을 갖고 있고 이러한 특징은 일상의 상호작용의 성격과 연관 지을 수 있었다. 여기서 제스처(Gesture)는 내면적인 심리과정의 표현이자 신호이다. 그것은 타자에게 반응을 유도하기 위해 취하는 자극으로서의 행위이며 그것에 반응하게 될 대상을 상정하고 있다. 또한 그 반응이 본인에게도 적용되어 상호작용을 성립시킨다. 인간과 사회적 관계는 바로 이러한 상징적 교환을 통한 의미를 공유함으로써 성립되는 것이다.
셋째, 작품에서 연구자는 위의 연구를 토대로 주위환경과 일상생활의 커뮤니케이션을 중점으로 기록한 이미지를 사용하여 포토 콜라주의 형태로 작품화 하였다. 작품의 재료와 기법은 실은 사용한 스티치의 형태이다. 이는 선의 흐름을 통해 시간의 흐름을 표현하고, 실은 선으로 이루어져 있는 오브제로 유사성을 확인하였다.
작품의 콜라주 형태는 사진기를 사용하여 순간을 포착하였고 디지털 이미지 파일을 선택하고 취하는 형식으로 조합과 재구성의 과정을 거쳤다. 이는 사진기를 사용해 외부세계의 일상 이미지를 재현해냄으로서 작품을 통해 작가와 관람자 간에 소통을 실현시키고 섬유의 물성을 활용하고 수작업을 더하여 새로운 텍스추어를 갖는다. 이러한 작업들을 통해 각 예술의 장르의 경계를 확장하고 더 나아가 섬유예술의 새로운 가능성을 확인할 수 있기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The everyday phenomena that are repeated around human beings reflect how things look like in contemporary society. This researcher connected people's daily life and the urban environment with everydayness and looked into what would people look like. The photographed images include the accumulated time and have a new time and space through the artist’s collage work. The audience accepts a new area of communication that re-recognizes the space on the artwork as a single space and time. In this work, the objects of everyday life express the time setting and spatial background as they are. It reflects modernity, not a life that is merely being repeated. It was also confirmed that the work provides a real world which can be often seen in his or her own experience.
First, this study looked into the types of people's lives today through the examination of the everydayness of contemporary society. Based on the sociologist Henri Lefebvre’s everydayness, it was confirmed that popular culture has continuity, established through repeated daily routines, and time settings. The objects shown in the work show everydayness and, at the same time, have modernity to understand contemporary society.
Second, everyday life is the basis of life that maintains and sustains society and individuals. Individuals belong to and communicate in various relationships. In the researcher's work, characters in daily life have a connection point that the audiences can put themselves in the characters’ shoe via a common background called life, and these characteristics could be related to the nature of daily interaction. Gestures are used by humans to emphasize expressions or to substitute particular words. They are a form that uses the body to perform the language function, the most basic function in communication. This is called an utterance of gesture, and it was confirmed that the form of the gesture used in form in the work was based on the gesture for communication.
Third, based on the research above, the researcher made a photo collage using images that were recorded with the focus on the social communication of the surrounding environment and everyday life. As for the materials and techniques of the work, it is in the form of stitches which used a thread. It expresses the flow of time through the flow of the line, and because a thread is an object made of the line, the similarity could be demonstrated.
The collage form of the work captured the moment by using a camera and underwent the process of combination and reconstruction in the form of selecting and using digital image files. It reproduces the everyday image of the outside world using a camera to make communication between the artist and the audience possible via the artwork, and come to have new texture by utilizing the properties of the fiber and adding handwork. It is expected that this study would tear down the boundaries of each genre in art and, by extension, explore new possibilities of fiber art.
