역경, 스트레스 대처방식 및 이점발견이 청소년 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Adverse Situations, Stress Coping Strategies and Benefit-finding on School-life Adjustment

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present research sought to examine the effects of stress-copying strategies (problem-focused strategy, emotion-focused strategy) and benefit-finding on the relationship between adverse situations and school-life adjustment. Data was drawn from a total of 352 students attending high schools and middle schools in Gyeonggi province, South Korea. The findings indicated that no problem-focused strategy had a significant effect on adverse situations, benefit-finding and school-life adjustment. In addition, the analyses indicated that neither emotion-focused strategy nor benefit-finding had an influence on the relationship between adverse situations and school-life adjustment. However, emotional-focused strategy had an indirect influence on the relationship between adverse situations and school-life adjustment through benefit-finding. This article discusses possible implications of this finding for counselors and practitioners who work with at-risk adolescents.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 역경, 스트레스 대처방식, 이점발견이 학교생활적응에 미치는 경로를 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기 지역의 학교에 재학 중인 중, 고등학생 352명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 스트레스 대처방식 중 문제중심 대처방식은 역경에서 학교생활적응으로 가는 경로나, 역경에서 이점발견을 거쳐 학교생활적응으로 가는 경로에서 의미 있는 변인이 아니었다. 또한 역경에서 정서중심대처방식을 거쳐 학교생활적응으로 가는 경로나 역경에서 이점발견을 거쳐 학교생활적응으로 가는 경로는 유의미하지 않았으나, 역경이 정서중심 대처방식과 이점발견을 통해 학교생활적응으로 가는 간접 경로는 유의미하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 역경에 직면했을 때 청소년들로 하여금 삶의 대부분을 보내고 있는 학교에서 효과적으로 적응하도록 돕는 것과 관련된 실천적인 함의를 제시하였다. 마지막으로 향후 연구에 대한 제안과 본 연구의 제한점에 대해 언급하였다.
