스마트교육기반 디지털교과서 활용수업 효과 분석 = Analysis of the Effects on Using Digital Textbook in the Classroom for Smart Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of using digital textbook developed for smart education in the elementary school classroom. To collect data, a preliminary test on the cognitive and non-cognitive domains was carried out with elementary school students, and then an experimental class was conducted with the students by using digital textbook. The digital textbook used was evaluated based on the confirmed demands from teachers and students through the review of digital textbook and performance of experimental class. After the class, another test was performed to check changes in the students` cognitive and non-cognitive domains. The findings of this study are as follows: Using digital textbook in the classroom had a positive impact on both cognitive and non-cognitive domains of the students. As for cognitive areas, understanding on the smart media, use of smart media and smart media world improved. As for non-cognitive areas, the level of concentration on learning and learning attitudes showed improvements. For students, the use of digital textbook increased their interest in learning and also improved their engagement in class. Moreover, students` capability for overall learning, in particular, self-directed learning was enhanced after the class using digital content. For teachers, digital textbook makes it easy for teachers to have students pay attention to the class and enables teachers to provide customized education for each student. It was found efficient particularly for unit evaluation and formative evaluation. The study suggested topics for future studies with regard to using digital content developed for smart education in the classroom.
