PMMA(The Primary Measures of Music Audiation)로 노주희(미간행)가 번안?

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of singing-a-song activities with Samul-akgi on young children's rhythm aptitude.
For the purpose, following research questions were established;
1. How do singing-a-song activities with Samul-akgi affect young children's rhythm aptitude?
1-1. Is there any difference of young children's rhythm aptitude between experimental and control groups according to their gender?
1-2. Is there any difference of young children's rhythm aptitude between experimental and control groups according to their age?
Subjects for the study were 83 four- or five-year-old children attending two kindergartens attached to elementary schools in Kochang, Jeonbuk. The experimental group consisted of 21 four-year-old children (11 boys, 10 girls) and 22 five-year-old children (11 boys, 11 girls) attending a kindergarten attached to K elementary school, and the control group consisted of 19 four-year-old children (8 boys, 11 girls) and 21 five-year-old children (11 boys, 10 girls) attending a kindergarten attached to N elementary school. The age ranges of the subjects were from four years and four months to five years and eleven months, and the average age was five years and two months. Experimental group was treated with the singing-a-song activities with Samul-akgi for 8 weeks from May 14th to June 7th, 2003, two sessions per week, 16 sessions in total: while, control group was treated with general singing-a-song activities.
As an instrument for children's developmental music aptitudes, Noh's unpublished translation of PMMA (The Primary Measures of Music Audiation; Gordon, 1986) was used.
To test the research questions, t-tests were conducted on the difference scores between pre- and post-tests on rhythm aptitude.
The results of the study were as follows;
First, there was significant difference of young children's rhythm aptitude between experimental group treated with singing-a-song activities with Samul-akgi and control group(t=5.63, p<.001).
Second, there was significant difference of young children's rhythm aptitude in experimental group treated with singing-a-song activities with Samul-akgi according to their gender(t=-2.837, p<.01), but there was no significant difference of young children's rhythm aptitude in control group according to their gender.
Third, there was significant difference of young children's rhythm aptitude in experimental group treated with singing-a-song activities with Samul-akgi according to their age(t=-3.108, p<.01), but there was no significant difference of young children's rhythm aptitude in control group according to their age.
