This thesis has studied, establishing the chief aim on the method of teaching Chinese characters, as a plan to promote the glossary in the center of the 4th grade of a primary school.
In our country, since the Independence, due to the Policy of Language, had been repeating use of only Korean Language, and mix of both Korean and Chinese characters. But, since 1972, middle and high schools have restored the use of Chinese character, and so far as now.
Due to Korean language use, only, in all elementary schools, teaching of Chinese character has been outstanding and the why, not only other subjects, but also teaching of Chinese characters has been unable in Korean language. Accordingly, as a plan to promote glossary through teaching of Chinese character:
First: The method of translating the original meaning of a character,
Seconed: The method of teaching the head part of a character.
Third: The method of teaching creation of letters, and introduced,
Fourth: The method of teaching connecting the ending of a character. As a result of achieving in study;
First: In order for a correct understanding on a character, a study on creating of letters for an individual character must be achieved.
A study on an individual character is deemed to be better according to the translation of (六畵). The method of translating original meaning either shall show the pictures to be connected with the very character, or teaching the original meaning, in order to remember it longer.
Seconed: The teaching of Chinese character is deemed effective to use the head part of a character. As the head part of character is efficient to show a meaning, between tone, and meaning, and it leads to understand the meaning of the letter.
Third: It is deemed to better in promoting the effect when teaching by kinds, according to the principal of creating letters.
