The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of the group counselling that applies inner child therapy, onto the self-concept and ego-strength of the participants.
The participants are 199 research subjects in total in order to test the purpose of this research. Among them, 147 subjects were placed in the experimental group that participated in the group counselling, 'Spirituality and Inner Child Therapy', and 52 were composed of the control group that did not handle anything during the same period.
The group counselling 'Spirituality and Inner Child Therapy' that was used in this research is the group counselling that is invented, developed, and structured by Jea-Eun Oh based on the inner child therapy of John Bradshaw. This group counselling is conducted for 45 hours for 4 days. In this research, it is intended to examine to effects of group counselling that was conducted over 4 groups in total during December of 2010, and February, June, and July of 2011.
In order to examine the effects of group counselling, the 'Self-Concept-Test' and 'Ego-Strength-Criteria' were conducted aiming at the experimental group and control group before and after the group counselling. In addition, in order to test the hypothesis, the two-way ANOVA that examines the experimental group and control group, as well as between the pre-test and post-test, and the interaction of them, was conducted. For statistical analysis, it conducted the SPSS 12.0 program and the content analysis based on the impression and self-report of the participants who have participated in the group counselling and follow-up meetings.
