권윤덕 그림책의 서사 양상 연구 = Narrative Aspects of Kwon Yun-duk`s Picturebooks

국문 초록 (Abstract)

권윤덕은 1995년부터 현재까지 10여 권의 창작 그림책을 발표해 온 한국을 대표하는 그림책 작가이다. 그가 활동한 시기는 국내 창작 그림책이 비약적인 성장을 거두면서 발전해온 시기와도 일치한다. 그러나 한국 창작 그림책이 거둔 여러 성취에도 불구하고 서사성의 부족이라는 문제는 여전히 우리 그림책이 해결해야 할 과제로 남아 있다. 그러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 우리 그림책에서 나타나는 서사적 자질을 분석하고 규명하는 작업들이 활발하게 이루어져야 할 것이다. 본고에서는 이러한문제 의식을 바탕으로 권윤덕 작가의 그림책을 대상으로 서사 양상을 분류하고자 하였다. 서사 양상은 개별 작품들이 공유하는 서사적 공통성을 의미한다. 이러한 서사 양상을 분류하기 위해서는 개별작품들이 지닌 서사적 자질을 규명할 수 있는 일정한 준거가 요구된다. 이를 위해 Gerald Prince의 서사성(Narrativity) 개념을 참조하였다. 그 결과 권윤덕의 그림책은 시간과 공간의 변화를 중심으로 구성된 서사, 등장인물의 변화를 중심으로 구성된 서사, 역사적 맥락을 중심으로 구성된 서사로 나눌 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Kwon Yun-Duk is a representative Korean picturebook author. Since 1995, she has published more than 10 creative picturebooks. During that period of time, there has been a rapid growth in Korean domestic creative picturebooks. Despite that rapid growth of Korean domestic creative picturebooks, the lack of a well-wrought narrative has been discussed as a problem that need to be solved. For this reason, analyzing and identifying the narrative aspects seen in Korean picturebooks should be scrutinized. This study categorized the narrative aspects of Kwon Yun-Duk``s picturebooks. The narrative aspect is the narrative sense of commonality that individual works share. In order to analyze these narrative aspects, it requires constant criteria to identify with their narrative qualities of individual works. To this end, this study used narrativity which is the concept of Gerald Prince. As a result, the narrative aspects of Kwon Yun-Duk``s picturebooks could be classified as narratives constructed by the flow of time and space, the change in the main character and the context of the historical events.
