방송 저널리스트의 전문직주의 인식에 관한 탐색적 연구 = An Exploratory Study on Broadcasting Journalists` Perceptions of Professionalism

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined broadcasting journalists` perceptions on attitudinal aspects of professionalism. Study results showed that most of the journalists surveyed in this study provided positive answers on professional attitudinal perception. However, ``autonomy`` factor scored lowest, and this seems attributable to political control against broadcasting journalists and the journalists` strike for fair journalism. Female journalist`s professional perception appeared weaker than that of their male counterparts, and male-centered working environment and organizational culture could be regarded as main causes of this. Journalists whose higher educational major was not related with journalism scored more on professional perception than those who majored in journalism. This suggests that journalism professors reflect on their teaching for journalism. This study has some implications in the field of journalism, in that this is one of the very first studies which analyzed Korean broadcasting journalists` perceptions on attitudinal aspects of professionalism. This study also suggests needs of developing more accurate measurement tools for broadcasting journalists` perceptions.
