예술고등학교 미술과 교육의 실태와 과제 연구 = (The) study of actual conditions and problem of art education in art high school

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 전문예술인 양성의 특성화 교육을 목적으로 하는 예술고등학교 미술과 교육의 현황과 실태를 분석하고, 뛰어난 소질과 재능을 가지고 있는 학생들에게 창의성 계발과 정서를 함양하는데 연구 목적이 있다.
이러한 전문예술교육에 대한 필요성을 충족하기 위해서 1990년대 전후로 예술고등학교의 수가 급격한 증가를 보였다. 이와 더불어 제5차 교육과정부터 제6·7차 예술고등학교의 교육과정이 채택되어 지속적으로 노력하고 있으나 현 미술과 교육은 실제와는 다른 모습이다.
따라서 바람직한 예술고등학교 미술과 교육과정을 수립하기 위한 준비로써, 본 연구는 현재 실시하고 있는 전국 예술고등학교 미술과 제7차 교육과정을 학교별, 과목별(보통교과, 전문교과)로 비교하여 교육부에서 제시한 교육과정과 각 학교에서 실시되고 있는 교육과정이 얼마나 잘 합치하는가를 파악해보았다. 그리고 외국의 미술과 심화 교육과정의 고찰을 통해 우리 나라 예술고등학교 미술과 교육과정의 나아갈 방향을 고찰하는데 목적을 두었다.
그 내용을 본론에서 전반적으로 살펴본다면
첫째, 전문예술인을 육성하는 예술고등학교의 설립목적과 당위성을 알아보고, 미술과 교육과정의 변천과 특수목적고로써 성격 및 현황 등에 대해 알아보았다.
둘째, 예술고등학교 미술교육과정의 현황에 대해 알아보고 현행 제6차 교육과정과 이를 개정한 제7차 예술고등학교 교육과정을 비교·분석하였다. 제7차 교육과정과 현행 교육과정과는 많은 차이점을 보이고 있는데 「국민공통기본교과」라 하여, 초등학교 1학년부터 고등학교 1학년까지 운영하도록 하였고, 고등학교 2, 3학년에는 선택중심교과라 하여 과목선택의 범위가 넓어지고 학교 및 학습자의 자율적인 선택의 폭을 확대시켰다. 전문교과의 총 이수단위는 82시간으로 기존 교육과정과 같으나 이수범위에 제한점을 두지 않았고 필수, 선택이란 구분을 없애고 학생들이 선택하여 이수하도록 하였다.
그리고 예술고등학교 교육과정의 분석은 보통교과와 전문교과의 과목에 대해서는 각 학교의 개별성 있는 운영과 지도 형태를 비교하였다. 전국 예술고등학교 교과의 이수단위 편제를 살펴보면, 대부분의 학교에서 교육부가 제시한 이수단위를 성실히 이행하고 있었으나, 보통교과가 전문교과보다 더 높게 배당되어 있다. 교과목 배당은 대부분 입시에 중요시되는 과목 위주로 설정되어 있었다.
또한 대부분의 예술고등학교 과목별 교과의 교과목 및 이수단위를 살펴본 결과 대부분의 학교에서는 국민기본교과와 일반선택교과의 이수단위가 심화선택교과에 비해 이수단위가 높아 학교에서의 자율적인 선택의 부족으로 특수성을 살리지 못하고 있었다.
전문교과의 경우는 소묘, 미술이론, 미술사, 회화, 조소, 디자인, 서예, 미술일반, 영상미술 등을 실시하고 있었고, 그 외에 인체소묘, 기물소묘, 정밀묘사, 크로키, 입체조형, 색채학 등 부분적으로 개설하여 운영하고 있었다. 그러나 전문교과의 선택의 폭이 거의 없다고 볼 수 있었다. 또한 전공이론보다는 전공실기에 상당히 많은 시간을 배당하고 있었다.
셋째, 우리 나라의 예술고등학교와 외국의 고등학교 미술과 교육과정을 비교·분석해 보았는데, 외국의 미술교육은 전학년에 걸쳐 수준별로 실시하고 있었고, 심화과정을 걸쳐 대학까지 일관된 커리큘럼을 가지고 단계적으로 이루어지고 있었다. 학생들이 원하는 다양한 전문교과를 개설하고 학생의 요구와 의지로 선택할 수 있도록 하여 단지 실기만을 중요시하는 것이 아니라 전문예술인이 되기 위한 다양하고 밀도 있는 과정이 이루어지고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 두 나라의 미술과 교육과정과 우리 나라의 예술고등학교 교육과정은 많은 차이점이 있지만, 우리 나라의 전문예술교육의 조기교육기관으로서 예술고등학교의 미술과 교육과정의 구성과 나아갈 방향을 설정하는데 많은 영향을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
넷째, 이를 토대로 예술고등학교 미술교육의 문제점 및 개선과제을 고찰하였는데, 예술고등학교 미술과 교육과정의 구성상의 문제점과 교수학습 실시 운영상의 문제로 나누어 살펴보고 개선과제을 제시한 다음, 우리 나라의 실정에 맞는 바람직한 예술고등학교 교육과정을 모색하고자 하였다.
본 연구를 통하여 예술고등학교 미술교육이 좀 더 많은 사람들의 관심과 연구의 대상이 되기를 바라며, 21세기를 살아갈 학생들의 뛰어난 재능과 개성을 살릴 수 있도록 예술고등학교 전문미술교육이 되도록 꾸준한 연구와 검토가 되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study purposed to analyze the present condition and problems of the art curriculum in art high school founded to bring up students having excellent makings and talents as specialized artists with specialized curriculums.
For the purpose of fulfilling the necessity for such specialized art education, the numbers of art high school had been increased around 1990's. However the 6th and 7th curriculum of art high school had been adopted from the 5th curriculum, the preset condition of art curriculum is different.
Therefore, as the preparation for founding the desirable curriculum of art high school, this study intended to research the curriculum presented by the Education Ministry and the curriculum practiced in each school through comparing the 7th art curriculum, practiced every art high school in Korea, in terms of school, course including normal and specialized courses. And this study intended to consider the way of art curriculum of art high schools through researching the deepened art curriculum practiced in other country.
The contents of this study are as followings ;
Firstly, this study researched the purpose and necessity of foundation of art high school bringing up specialized artists, the changing process, the characteristics, and the present condition of art curriculum as a high school founded for special purposes.
Secondly, this study researched the present condition of art curriculum in art high school, compared and analyzed the curriculum processes between the 6th curriculum and the 7th curriculum revised from the 6th curriculum. And the 7th curriculum has many different points compared to the present curriculum. The 7th curriculum extended the self-regulating choice for schools and learners through practicing 'the common and basic national education' from the first grade of primary school to the first grade of high school and 'option-centered curriculum' to the second and third grade of high school. Total required hours for the specialized curriculum are 82 hours as same as the existing curriculum. In addition, it has not the limitation and classification, such as required subject and optional subject, for the required extent and let students take curriculum by their choice. Moreover, this study compared the management and pattern of curriculum in each school for common subjects and specialized subjects in terms of the analysis of educational process in art high school.
Most schools practiced the required hours according to the notice from the Ministry of Education and common subjects are assigned higher than specialized subjects shown in the table of required hours for curriculums in art high schools in korea. And the subject assignment is set up for main subjects for the entrance examination. Furthermore, most art high schools could not vivify the specialty of art high school because of lack of self-regulating to the required hours for subjects shown the common and basic national education and the general optioned subjects have more required hours than deepened optioned subjects. The rough sketch, art theory, art history, drawing, plastic art, design, calligraphy, general art, and image art are practiced as specialized curriculums and human body sketch, object sketch, precision description, croquis, solid delineation, and chromatology are set up and practiced in parts. But there is no choice for specialized curriculum. Most school share more hours to actual technique for major than the theory for major.
Thirdly, this study compared and analyzed the educational progress between Korean art high school and foreign country's. The art education in foreign country are practiced according to the level of students through the whole grades and connected to university with the consistent curriculum. Therefore, art schools in foreign country set up diverse subjects for students with practicing not only actual technique but also diverse processes for bringing up students as specialized artists. However the example from foreign country has a difference compared to Korean education, it might affect efficiently to the plan for organization and direction of art education in art high school as a specialized education system for arts.
Fourthly, this study tried to examine the organizational problems and management problems of art education and research the desirable curriculum for art high school fitting to Korean present condition from examining the problems and remedy for art education in art high school.
It is desirable that art education may be an object study to more researchers with more concern through this study. Furthermore, it is necessary to research and examine the art curriculum in art high schools in order to bring up the students who live in the 21st century and have excellent makings and talents.
