The purpose of this study was to investigate if parents' Child-rearing attitude and educational involvement have influence on learning motivation of middle school students. 331 male and female students, drawn from two middle schools in Gumi the province of Gyeongbuk participated in the present study. To analyze the data collected, correlation analysis and regression analysis were applied using SPSS/10.0.
The results of this study were as follows:
First, maternal child-rearing attitudes had influence upon children's receptive attitude and voluntary attitude respectively, which are sub-variables of the Learning motivation. Also paternal child-rearing attitudes had influence upon the children's learning motivation with regards to, receptive attitudes, voluntary attitudes, and controlled attitudes.
Second, maternal educational involvement had significant influence upon the motivation sub variables of pursuing appropriate results, providing study information, and encouraging scholastic progress respectively. Furthermore, paternal educational involvement had significant influence on the motivation sub variables of pursuing appropriate results, providing democratic rules, and encouraging scholastic progress.
