아버지 양육참여와
만2세 영아의 사회정서발달과의 관계


본 연구는 경기도 성남시, 용인시에 위치한 어린이집에 다니는 만 2세 영아 173명과 그 아버지들을 대상으로 아버지의 양육참여와 관련된 변인들은 무엇인지 알아보고, 영아의 사회정서발달과 어떠한 관계가 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 아버지 양육참여의 측정은 Fagan & Palm(2004)이 제작한 도구를 한국의 사회. 문화적 배경을 고려하여 문병환(2008)이 번안, 수정한 질문지를 사용하였다. 그리고 영아 사회정서발달 측정도구는 김호인(2010)이 제작한 만2세 영아의 사회정서발달 평정척도를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석은 연구문제에 따라 각 변인에 대한 기술적 통계치를 산출하였고, 아버지 사회인구학적 배경에 따른 양육참여 유형의 차이를 알아보기 위해 t검증과 일원변량분산 분석(One-way ANOVA)을 통한 F검증을 실시하였다. 아버지 양육참여 유형과 영아의 사회정서발달과의 관계는 상관관계 분석하였고 영아의 사회정서발달에 미치는 영향은 회귀분석을 하였다.
본 연구에서 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 아버지의 양육참여는 ‘생활지원’ 유형이 가장 높았으며 자녀의 출생순위, 아버지의 연령, 학력, 어머니의 취업 유무에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타났다.
둘째, 아버지의 양육참여는 만2세 영아의 사회정서발달과 관계가 있으며 영아의 사회정서발달에 영향을 미쳤다. 아버지 양육참여 유형은 영아 사회정서발달 중 ‘기본정서 및 사회적 행동’, ‘인지조절’, ‘사회적 관계’와 보다 더 상관이 높았다.
셋째, 아버지의 양육참여와 영아 사회정서발달과의 관계에 대한 사회인구학적 변인에 따른 상관분석 결과는 자녀가 외동일 경우, 36세-40세 아버지, 어머니가 직업이 있는 경우에 영아의 사회정서발달 하위요인 ‘기본정서 및 사회적 행동’, ‘인지조절’, ‘사회적 관계’와 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
결론적으로 아버지의 양육참여는 만 2세 영아의 ‘기본정서 및 사회적 행동’, ‘인지조절’, ‘사회적 관계’와 관계가 있으며 영향을 준다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 영아의 긍정적인 사회정서발달을 위해 아버지의 적극적인 양육참여가 필요하다.

Relationship between Father Parenting Involvement and Social Emotional Development of two year old infants


This study aims to outline the variables related to father parenting involvement and its relationship with infant social emotional development with test subjects of 173 Infants attending Child Care Centers located in Sungnam-si, Gyeonggi-Do and Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-Do, and their fathers.
Father parenting involvement is evaluated using Questionnaire originally authored by Fagan & Palm(2004) and modified and adapted by Moon(2008), and social emotional development is rated using Social Emotional Development Rating Sale of two year old Infants by Kim(2010).
For the analysis, various statistics for each variables are computed. To classify the parenting types of fathers with different demographics, T-Test and F-Test using One-way ANOVA is performed. Correlation Analysis on the relationship between father parenting type and infant social emotional development and Regression Analysis of effects on infant social emotional development are also performed.
The result of the study are :

1. ‘Daily Life Assistance’ type is the most prominent form of father parenting involvement, and factors such as Father’s Age, Level of Education, and whether Mother is working or not, have significant impact.

2. There is relationship between father parenting involvement and social emotional development of two year old infants, and have impact on the development. Father parenting types are more correlated with ‘Basic emotion and social behavior’, ‘Cognitive control’, and ‘social relationship’.
3. The result of correlation analysis on the relationship between father parenting involvement and infant social emotional development due to demographics is that the cases of Only Child, Father aged between 36-40, and Mother is employed, have close relationship with sub-factors of infant social emotional development such as ‘Basic emotion and social behavior’, ‘Cognitive control’, and ‘Social relationship’.
In conclusion, Father parenting involvement is related and affects ‘Basic Emotions, and Social Behavior’, ‘Cognitive Control’, and ‘Social Relationship’ of two year old infants. So, for desirable social emotional development of infants, father’s active parenting involvement is necessary.
