꽃의 상징성을 형상화한 장신구 디자인 연구 = (A) study on symbolic representation of flower

국문 초록 (Abstract)

어떤 사물을 본다는 것은 관찰자가 그 사물이 가지고 있는 고유의 형태를 보는 시각적인 측면과 대상을 보는 관찰자의 마음이 서로 만나면서 이루어진다. 즉, 사물 그 자체를 눈으로 보는 것뿐만 아니라 거기에서 느끼게 되는 감성이나 이미지 혹은 경험까지도 보게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 사물을 본다는 것은 보는 이의 마음에 비쳐진 대상을 느낀다고 할 수 있다.
창작행위는 무(無)에서 유(有)가 되어지듯, 새로운 것이 만들어지는 것을 뜻하기도 하고 이미 존재하고 있는 것들을 응용하여 그에 따른 느낌이나 경험을 더해 재탄생되는 것이라고 말할 수도 있다.
세상에는 영감을 주는 대상들이 많이 있지만 그 중에서도 감성을 순수하게 자극시켜주는 가장 큰 부분은 자연이라고 할 수 있다. 자연은 창조활동에 있어서 끊임없는 예술적 소재를 제공해 준다. 이렇듯 무한한 소재를 제공해주는 자연물 중에서도 꽃은 상징적 이미지와 고유의 아름다운 형태로 많이 쓰여 져 왔다.
꽃을 보면 아름다움을 느끼게 되는데, 꽃의 외형적인 모습과 아름다운 색상 그리고 향기는 사람들로 하여금 여러 정서적인 느낌을 가질 수 있게 해주는 부분이다. 오감으로 느낄 수 있는 감성적인 부분 외에도 꽃 자체가 가지고 있는 생명력, 생성과 소멸 등의 내적인 이미지로 인해 여러 모습들과 일상을 대변해 줄 수 있다. 연구자의 작품 속 꽃은 꽃이 가지고 있는 상징적인 이미지를 감성적으로 형상화 하고자 하였다.
본 연구에서는 꽃이 지니고 있는 상징적 이미지를 부각시켜 조형적인 형태로 표현해 장신구에 접목하였는데 꽃의 다양한 이미지와 일치 될 수 있는 금속의 재료 중 은(925 Silver)을 사용하여 표현 하였다. 작품의 제작과정에서 자연물의 부드럽고, 유기적인 형태를 표현 할 때 판금 작업을 기본으로 하여 볼륨(Volume)감을 주어 유기적인 곡면 형태를 만들어 주었다. 또한, 자유로운 공간감의 표현이나 금속판에서 느껴지는 무거운 중량감을 고려해 은선(925 Silver)을 이용하여 판(Plate)과 선(Line)의 강약을 대비시켜 더욱 조화롭고 풍성하게 제작하였다. 꽃의 다양한 색상은 금속의 색상으로 표현하기 어려운 부분이 있기에 유색보석을 사용하여 이미지에 적합하도록 제작하였다.
본 작품제작 방법으로는 은(925 Silver)의 판금기법을 기본으로 각 작품이 가지고 있는 꽃의 이미지를 살리고 판금작업으로 유기적이고 자연스러운 곡선을 표현하였다. 또한 은선(925 Silver)을 여러 형태로 제작하여 장신구의 조형적인 부분을 연구하였다. 장신구의 실용성을 생각할 때 선의 특성을 살리면서 선으로 만든 형태가 가지고 있는 취약점을 고려해 여러 겹으로 겹쳐서 표현하거나 선의 두께를 주는 방법으로 제작하여 문제점을 보완하였다. 또한 꽃의 일부는 유색보석을 이용하여 캐보션(Cabochon) 형태로 부드럽게 연마해 색상을 표현하였다.
본 연구에서 가장 중점을 둔 부분은 금속판의 유기적이고 부드러운 표현과 선의 다양한 형태 연구를 들 수 있다. 또한 꽃의 형태적 아름다움과 꽃을 보았을 때 느낀 이미지를 조형화하여 현대사회에 살고 있는 현대인들에게 자연의 아름다움을 느낄 수 있는 장신구를 제작하고자 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

To see things means the meeting between a visual side which observers look at the own shape and their spirit. That is, we could not only take a superficial view of things on eyes, but also perceive image and experience. Therefore, I would define that "To see object" reflects on thing what viewers feel in their heart.
Creative activity is nothing comes into something, namely, making a new product or process and being reborn with feeling and experience. There are numerous things to get inspiration in the world; especially "Nature"is the most innocent feeling to be stimulated. Nature provides us with artistic subject matters continuously. In particular, flowers have been being loved as an artistic material for symbolic words and beauty. People enjoy watching the beauty of flowers that its shape, color and scent assimilate into them delightful and emotional. With affective sense, the intrinsic image of flowers such as vitality, creation and extinction presents us our daily life.
Flowers in my work were focused on an inquiry into the shape of the cosmos emotionally. I would express formative arts various images of flowers are emphasized onusing material of silver 925. When representing tender natural object and organic shape of flowers, each part made voluminous curved surface based on plating sheet metal. Additionally, I would produce fertile imagination of flowers to harmonize with strength and weakness of plate and line considering that well expressed space and massive from metallic plate in my work. The reason why metal has a difficulty with colorful presentation is to use various colored-jewelry and multiform of silver line (925 silver) for a formative art I study, in order to be suited an concept of flowers in my work. Deliberating on practical use of jewelry, I would make up for the weak point the form of line as it is, try to create the most of line's characteristics making thick line or overlapping one another on the line. Each petal of jewel is wonderfully wrought, polishing up the Cabochon style made of colored jewelry. In this study, I would place an emphasis on turning out smoothly and articulating with metal plate and in the shape of diversified line. Moreover, I would produce personal adornments that modern people could have an affinity for the beauty of Nature in combination with external and internal impression when relishing flowers.
