북한이탈여성의 자아존중감과 외모관리행동과의 관련성

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 북한이탈 여성의 자아존중감과 외모관리행동의 관련성 및 외모관리행동에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 연구이며, 2014년 12월부터 2015년 2월까지 북한이탈여성 총 201명의 자료를 분석하였다. 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 대상자의 자아존중감은 4점 만점에 2.40점으로 조사되었다. 외모관심도는 5점 만점에 3.20점이며, 외모관리 행동은 5점 만점에 2.67점으로, 대상자들은 메이크업과 의복관리 행동을 많이 하지만 운동, 섭식 행동은 평균보다 낮은 것으로 조사되었다.
둘째, 대상자의 자아존중감과 외모관심도는 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도에 따른 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 외모관리행동에서는 외모관리 하위 영역별 차이는 있으나, 연령, 성형관심도, 재북시 직업과 유의한 차이를 보였다.
셋째, 대상자의 자아존중감은 외모관심도, 외모관리행동과 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도와 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 외모관심도는 외모관리행동, 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도와의 상관관계를 보였으며, 또한 외모관리행동은 연령, 체중조절의도 및 성형관심도와 유의한 상관관계를 보였다.
넷째, 자아존중감과 외모관심도는 대상자의 외모관리행동을 44.7% 설명하였다.
따라서, 본 연구는 한국사회의 중요한 구성원인 북한이탈여성들의 자아존중감 향상 및 외모관리 프로그램개발의 기초자료로 활용될 것이라 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to investigate baseline data by exploring the self-esteem and general appearance management behavior in North Korean immigrant women. The data were collected from December 2014 to February 2015 from 201 participants. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. The followings are the results of the present study.
1) The mean score of self-esteem was 2.40 in 4 points, and the mean of the appearance concern was 3.20 in 5 points. And the mean of general appearance management behavior was 2.67 in 5 points. Subjects had a lot of make-up and clothes behaviors. However exercise, food intake behaviors of subjects were lowerer than average.
2) There were significant differences between self-esteem, the appearance concern and general charateristeics(e.g age, intent weight loss, interest in cosmetic surgery). In general appearance management behavior, there was a significant difference among age, interest in cosmetic surgery and job in North Korea.
3) There was a significant correlation among self-esteem and the appearance concern, general appearance management behavior, age, intent weight control as well as interest in cosmetic surgery. In the appearance concern, it showed a correlation with general appearance management behavior, age, intent weight control as well as interest in cosmetic surgery. In general appearance management behavior, there was a significant correlation among the age, intent weight control and interest in cosmetic surgery.
4) 44.7% of general appearance management behavior was explained: self-esteem, the appearance concern.
Therefore, it can be suggested that utilization of developing programs for improving self-esteem and appearance management behavior.
