부모-자녀 동시참여 진로 집단상담이 초등학생의 진로성숙도와 안녕감에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of parent's participation in career group-counseling on career maturity and well-being of elementary school children

The purpose of this study is to suggest the concept of career to the rural elementary school children on the stage of awareness of career education, to help them to find out earlier their interest, aptitude, talent, etc, and also to help them to raise their ability of managing the future society by providing wide information and knowledge about career of modern society. According to the need of this study, it is intended to find out how the activities through career group-counselling program of parents and children affect on career maturity and well- being of elementary school children.
The concrete hypotheses to achieve the purpose of this study are as follows:
First, the experimental group participated in career group-counseling program of parents and children will score significantly higher in career maturity score than the control group of only children participated in the program. Second, the experimental group participated in career group-counseling program of parents and children will be meaningfully higher score in welling-being part than the control group participated in the program.
Career-group counselling program which will be used in this study is developed and committed by the researcher based on pre-experiment. I used 『Elementary.Secondary Career Maturity Test』 published by Kangwondo Education Research Institute to measure the effects and the career maturity. In addition, to research the degree of psychological well-being, this study valuated the general degree of psychological well-being of daily life using Campbell, Converse, and Rodgers' 「Index of Well- Being」 adapted by Han Jeong-won. Subjects of this study are fourth grade school children and their parents of S-Elementary School in ○○ Myun, Masan, Gyeongnam for experimental group and fourth grade school children of S-Elementary school in ○○ Myun for control gruop. The term of the study is from February to April in 2004 for about three months.
To summarize, the results are as follows:
First, the career maturity of the experimental group participated in career group-counseling program of parents and children is more meaningful in career maturity score than the control group of just children. This result shows the attendance of parents with their children raise the career maturity of children and affect their well-being positively.
Second, this program has a meaningful effect upon career maturity attitude and also has an positive effect on recognizing proper career to their own.
Third, the elementary school children of the experimental group trained by this program had higher score on four sub-factors of career maturity than before : career appreciating ability, self appreciating ability, career decision ability, intention decision ability.
Fourth, well-being of the experimental group was improved by the communication between parents and children and the interaction between them.
These improvement of the career maturity will work on one's career decision effectively and reasonably by the career type being changed rightly.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 진로 교육의 인식단계에 있는 농촌 초등학생들에게 직업에 대한 인식을 심어주고 자신의 흥미, 적성, 소질 등을 조기에 발견할 수 있도록 도와주며, 현대사회의 직업세계에 대한 폭넓은 정보와 지식을 제시해 줌으로써 일찍부터 미래 사회를 준비할 수 있는 능력을 기르고자 하는 취지에서 진행되었다. 연구의 필요성에 입각하여, 부모-자녀 동시참여 진로 집단상담 프로그램 실시 활동들이 아동의 진로성숙도와 안녕감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다.
이와 같은 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위한 구체적인 가설은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모참여 진로 상담을 받은 실험집단은 자녀만 진로 집단상담을 받은 비교집단에 비해 진로성숙도 점수가 유의미하게 높아질 것이다. 둘째, 부모참여 진로 집단상담을 받은 실험집단은 자녀만 진로집단상담을 받은 비교집단에 비해 안녕감 점수가 유의미하게 높아질 것이다.
본 연구에서 사용할 진로 집단상담 프로그램은 선행연구들을 기초로 본 연구자가 계발하여 실시하였다. 그 효과를 측정하고 진로성숙도를 알아보기 위하여 사용한 도구는 강원도 교육연구원(1993)에서 제작한 「초.중 진로성숙도검사」를 사용하였다. 또한, 심리적 안녕감의 정도를 조사하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 Campbell(1976) 등의 「주관적 안녕 지표(Index of Well-Being)」를 한정원(1997)이 번안한 것으로 일상 생활에서의 전반적인 심리적 안녕감 정도를 평정하였다. 연구의 대상은 경남 M시에 있는 ○○면 S초등학교 4학년 학생들과 부모를 실험집단으로 하고 비교집단은 인근 ○○면 S초등학교 4학년 학생들로 하였다. 적용기간은 2004년 2월부터 4월까지 약 3개월간으로 실시하였다.
연구의 결과를 요약 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 프로그램은 진로성숙태도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고 자신 및 직업세계에 대한 올바른 이해와 지식을 바탕으로 자신에게 적합한 직업의 종류를 알아보고 자신에게 알맞은 직업을 알아보는데 긍정적인 영향이 있었다.
둘째, 본 프로그램을 참여한 학생들은 프로그램 참여 이전보다 진로성숙 능력의 네 영역 직업의 이해능력, 자신의 이해능력, 직업 선택능력, 의사 결정능력에서 모두 유의미하게 향상되었다.
셋째, 상담과정동안 부모와의 대화, 가족과의 상호작용이 일어나 안녕감에 향상을 보였다. 이러한 연구결과를 종합해보면 진로성숙 사후검사 결과는 부모-자녀 동시 참여한 실험집단의 진로성숙도가 비교집단 보다 유의미하게 나타났는데 이러한 결과는 부모-자녀 동시참여가 진로성숙도를 높이고 안녕감에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 짐작할 수 있다.
따라서 진로성숙도의 향상은 진로유형이 바람직하게 변화되어 향후 진로결정에 효율적이고 합리적으로 작용하리라 생각된다.
