걸음마기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육특성, 놀이참여도와 영아의 사회·정서적 행동 간의 구조적 관계 = The Structural Relationships among the Parenting Characteristics, Play Participation and Infant’s Social & Emotional Development

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 걸음마기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육특성(양육스트레스, 영아에 대한 어머니애착, 양육효능감), 놀이참여도와 영아의 사회·정서적 행동 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울지역에 거주하면서 걸음마기 자녀를 둔 어머니 279명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 양육스트레스는 영아에 대한 어머니애착, 양육효능감, 놀이참여도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육스트레스는 영아에 대한 어머니애착과 양육효능감을 통해 사회·정서적 유능성에 간접적인 영향을 미치며 영아에 대한 어머니애착과 양육효능감은 사회·정서적 유능성에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 양육스트레스는 양육효능감을 통해 외현적 문제행동에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 양육효능감만이 외현적 문제행동에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 기초로 양육스트레스를 줄이고 양육효능감과 영아에 대한 어머니애착을 증진하기 위한 방안을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the structural relationships among the parenting characteristics (parenting stress, parenting efficacy, mother’s attachment to her infant), mother’s play participation, to infant’s social & emotional development. The subjects were 279 mothers with infants aged 15-26 months in Seoul provinces who participated in parent-infant play program. Data were analyzed by the Structural Equation Model (SEM) using a maximum likelihood minimization function. The mediation effect of parenting efficacy, mother’s attachment to her infant, and mother’s play participation were verified by bootstrapping analysis.
The major findings of this study are as follows: First, parenting stress had a direct effect on parenting efficacy, mother’s attachment to her infant, and mother’s play participation. Second, parenting efficacy and mother’s attachment to her infant had a mediating effect on the infant’s social and emotional capability and parenting efficacy and mother’s attachment to her infant had a direct effect on infant’s social and emotional capability. Third, parenting efficacy had a mediating effect on the infant’s external problem behavior and just parenting efficacy was found to directly affect infant’s external problem behavior. Based on these results, the study concludes with suggestions for promoting a parenting efficacy and supporting healthy mother’s attachment to her infant and mitigating or alleviating parenting stress.
