Farmers education has become emphasized with the perception of competitiveness security recently. However, despite quantitative increase in farmers education, its effect is not noticeable. It is due to instructor-led teaching by rote without considering individuals' characteristics and regional and environmental characteristics. Therefore, farmers cannot apply and practice what they learned in reality. For this reason, judging it is the most important to apply and practice what's learned in reality on site, this study seeks for the educational characteristics to lead education to practice. Especially, agricultural industry management education course that has been stressed on more important recently is examined.
This study unearthed 4 characteristic factors that affect learning transfer in agricultural industry management education, which are learning authenticity, learner participation, feedback and goal consistency. With these variables and with self-efficacy and motivation, which are attitude variables during learning transfer as parameters, structural equation model for study was abstracted.
As this study examines if agricultural industry management education characteristics in management education targeting farmers induce farmers' practice on site, it has several implications as follows: first, this study sets up a new performance indicator in agricultural industry management education which was not systematically organized. In many previous cases, 'learner's lecture satisfaction' was considered performance indicator in agricultural industry management education. Therefore, achievement of the education was evaluated by measuring learner's lecture satisfaction. This study suggests 'learning transfer', the will to practice efficient agricultural industry management after the management education, as an achievement variable of the education. Also, 'learning transfer' is proved to be used, by developing and applying measurement index. This shows theoretical and business significance of this study. Second, this study has a theoretical significance for suggesting characteristics of agricultural industry management education. Third, this study also unearthed self-efficacy and motivation variables can work as a parameter in a relation between learning transfer and characteristics of agricultural industry management education, which can be another theoretical significance.
Lastly, it can be a business implication that education design standard for more effective agricultural industry management education can be made by discovering factors that affect learning transfer, a farmer's will to practice what's learned in management education.
