초등학교 고학년의 통신언어 사용실태 연구 = (A) Study on The Phenomena of Language Variations in The Cyberspace for Senior Students in Elementary School

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 인터넷 통신언어가 초등학교 학생들의 언어생활에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가, 그 사용 실태를 현장조사와 탐구로 연구하였다.
초등학교 학생들의 올바른 인터넷 언어 사용에 대한 체계적인 교육을 강조해야 한다는 목적을 갖고 초등학교 고학년의 통신언어 사용 실태에 따른 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
(1) 초등학교 고학년의 통신언어 사용 습관의 실태
많은 학생들이 인터넷 상에서 잘못된 문법과 잘못된 표기로 통신언어를 사용하고 있으며, 그 통신 언어가 일반적인 국어 사용에 많은 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
2) 표기상, 그 특징으로는 다음과 같이 나타났다
음성언어로 쓰기(소리나는 대로 적기), 어휘의 남용, 음운이나 음절의 축약, 비속어, 은어, 외국어, 의성어. 의태어, 그리고 이모티콘의 사용 등이다.
(2)교육적 요구와 방안
실태분석을 통한 교육적 방안은 통신언어의 긍정적인 영향은 경제적이고 효율적으로 전달 할 수 있다는 사실이다. 시각적인 즐거움과 기억효과도 줄 수 있으며, 감정 표현의 용이한 특성으로 창의적이고 개성적인 표현을 유도 할 수도 있고, 친밀감을 줄 수 있다는 교육환경이 발견되었다. 그리고 부정적인 영향으로는, 한글 맞춤법의 혼란 및 문법 파괴와 일상적인 국어 생활에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 비속어나 은어의 남발로 대화의 단절과 언어의 폭력 및 도덕성 문제로 유도되는 현상이 나타나므로, 통신 언어의 긍정적인 효과를 높이고, 일상적인 생활에서 올바른 국어 생활을 위하여서는 통신언어 교육 활동의 개발과 대안 제시가 요구될 뿐만 아니라, 바른 국어 사용에 대한 강화교육의 필요성이 요구된다. 그리고 국어시간에 다양한 통신 언어지도에 대한 수업 방법이 개발되어야겠으며, 학교에서의 체계적인 통신 언어 교육의 필요성으로 그 지도 방법에 대한 연구가 과제로 남겨졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study seeks to find out through research and detailed analysis of field surveys what effects the Internet communication is having on the usage of common Korean language of Elementary school students , and how we ought to plan for their linguistic education to deal with those effects.
The summary content of this study is as follows :
(1) The actual condition of Korean usage habits of the Elementary school students :
1) Many students are using incorrect grammar on the Internet and the "chatting language" on Internet is having an influence in the usage of common Korean dialect.
2) Some characteristics of its influence is being expressed as follows: writing with phonetic spellings, intentional misuse of vocabularies, abbreviation of phonemes or syllables, profanities, Internet jargons, foreign words and the usage of "emotions I' (picture esque icons depicting emotions).
(2) Possible responses to the analysis of the research :
The positive characteristics of Internet communication are that it is economic and effective way to deliver ; it is visually stimulating and can aid memory ; it is easy to express different emotions ; and it is easy to become intimate with others using creatively unique expressions. These can be positively and effectively applied to education.
The negative aspects are that it brings confusion to the usage of Korean orthographic rules and grammar ; it negatively effect s the usage of common Korean language ; excessive use of slangs and jargons lead to a disconnect in conversations , verbal abuse and moral corruption.
Therefore, the emphasis on guidance on such matters is strongly needed.
In order to encourage the positive aspects of the Internet communication and discourage its negative aspects, some developments of educational activities of the Internet communication language practical education are required.
In order to prevent the confusion of usage of Korean orthographic rules and grammar due to the negative aspects of Internet communication, the necessity to re-enforce education for correct usage of Korean language is required.
