The analysis of electromagnetic system is the important elements in these days because coupling system has been more complicated and consists of many moving parts. Devices like these are analyzed by many numerical approaches. Especially, finite element method(FEM) is the useful technique among the numerical analysis technique. By the way if electromagnetic system has moving parts and its position changes as time passes then FEM needs remesh process. So, standard FEM takes a long time and yields a numerical error in analysis of electromagnetic system with moving objects.
To solve moving system effectively, we introduce LSM(Level Set Method) proposed by Osher and Sethian. LSM is the way tracing deformation of a surface or curve depending on time and space. And geometry of moving objects can be designed by level set function. If LSM is coupled with FEM to analyze electromagnetic system is shorter than using repetition of standard FEM.
LSM has been widely applied in engineering problem lately. The applied fields of LSM are shape optimization, chemistry, fabrication of microelectronic components and image processing etc. In this paper, LSM is applied to analyze particle dynamics. We can realize a movement analysis of particles which are made up of dielectric material.
