다문화 동화의 내용 요소 분석 - 인물, 갈등의 양상, 해결 방식, 다수자의 편견을 중심으로 = Analyzing children's multicultural literature

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study's goal is to suggest multicultural literature as a tool of multicultural education for majority and minority both, to define multicultural literature as reflecting the reality of Korean multicultural society, and to offer the specific standard for selecting literatures through analyzing the contents of the literatures. Objects are 20 books among the multicultural literature published within the country. Also based on the study on literature for children, we establishes character, conflicts, resolving method, majority's bias for analysis element of the literary category. As a result of analysis on characters described in multicultural literature, characters from multicultural family are standardized. Also their personality is described as passive, self-defensive, and abusive words and behaviors. According to the analysis on resolving method of the incidents, self solution featured high moral thoughts and overconsciousness of the characters, while the same problem was found in multicultural character’s resolving by Korean character’s help. If characters' former nation has slow economic development compared to Korea, majority's bias and stereotype on this were appearing as violent language and behavior.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내에서 창작, 출판된 아동 다문화문학 가운데 다문화 동화 20편의 내용을 인물, 갈등의 양상, 해결 방식, 다수자의 편견을 중심으로 분석함으로써 다문화 동화에 담긴 문제점을 고찰하고 개선 방향을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 아동 다문화문학과 이데올로기의 관계를 이론적으로 고찰하고 다문화 동화의 개념 및 의미를 정의하였다. 아동 문학 및 아동 다문화문학에 대한 앞선 연구를 바탕으로 분석을 위한 내용 요소를 선정하고 이를 바탕으로 연구 대상 20편의 다문화 동화 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 많은 작품에서 다문화가정 등장인물은 이국적인 모습으로 묘사되고 있었다. 이들은 외모 면에서 주류 한국인과 대비되며 소극적이고 수동적인 성격을 지닌 것으로 그려지고 있었다. 주류 한국인의 경우 다문화가정 등장인물과 긍정적 관계를 형성하는 선한 인물과 부정적 관계에 있는 악한 인물로 양분화되어 나타났다. 갈등의 해결 양상을 분석한 결과 공감 능력이 뛰어나고 높은 도덕성을 지닌 인물이 갈등을 해결하는 전형성이 나타났다. 또한 많은 작품에서 소수자에 대한 주류 한국인 작가의 외부자적 관점이 드러났으며 출신 국가와 이주 목적에 따른 다수자의 편견과 고정관념이 여러 작품에 걸쳐 반복적으로 제시되었다. 다수자와 소수자 모두를 대상으로 하는 소통과 이해의 도구로 국내에서도 다문화 동화가 많은 관심을 받고 있는 만큼 다문화 동화의 내용에 대한 검토와 연구를 통해 더 많은 질적 발전이 이루어지기를 기대한다.
