청소년기 우울의 발달적 변화에 대한 부모인지 및 자기개방의 종단적 영향: 위계적 선형모형(HLM)을 이용한 분석 = The Longitudinal Effects of Parental Knowledge and Adolescent Disclosure on Depression in Adolescence

Objectives: This study examined the predictors of adolescent depression and its developmental trajectory. Methods: This study used hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) to investigate the changes in depression during the transition into adolescence. Using the Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS), data were collected over the course of five years from subjects who, at the beginning of the study, were in fourth grade. For this study, parental knowledge and adolescent disclosure were considered time-invariant predictors of depression as well as time-variant variables. Results: The researcher found a significant mean increase in depression over time, with the data following a linear trend. Gender, parental knowledge, and adolescent disclosure had significant effects on the initial status of depression. In addition, family structure, gender, and parental knowledge were found to affect changes in the rate of depression, and the evolution of both parental knowledge and adolescent disclosure were related to the evolution of depression. Conclusions: These results imply that parental knowledge and adolescent disclosure need to be emphasized as strategies for preventing and alleviating adolescent depression.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청소년의 우울 수준이 시간에 따라 어떠한 변화를 보이는지, 그리고 그러한 변화에 부모인지와 청소년의 자기개방이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 검증하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 한국청소년패널(KYPS) 초등학교 4학년 1~5차년도 자료에 대하여 위계적 선형모형(HLM)을 구성하여 실증적 검증을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 5년 동안 청소년의 우울 수준은 선형으로 증가하는 패턴을 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 성별, 부모인지, 청소년의 자기개방은 우울의 초기치에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 성별, 가족구조, 부모인지는 우울 초기치를 통제한 상태에서 우울의 변화율에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 뿐만 아니라 매 시점에서 부모인지 및 자기개방 수준이 높을수록우울 수준은 낮은 경향이 있는 것으로 나타나 청소년기 우울에 대한 부모인지 및 청소년의 자기개방의 종단적 효과가 확인되었다. 이러한 결과에 근거하여 청소년기 우울 예방 및 개입과 관련된 함의가 제시되었다.
