극장용 2D애니메이션의 작품 속에 적용한 은유적 시간 연구 - 미야자키 하야오 감독의 “바람이 분다” 중심으로 - = A Study on the Metaphorical Time Applied to the 2D Animation Work for Theater -Focusing on “The Wind Rises” of Director Miyazaki Hayao-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study looks into The Wind Rises directed by “Hayao Miyazaki” released in September 2013, when he announced his retirement from film industry. The Wind Rises expresses the hero’s dream, ambition, sorrow and frustration that he experiences in his life metaphorically metonymically. In general, writers divide his/her expressions into object and event element categories. Event elements are about inevitability and progress of a story, while object elements are divided into plot and aspect. According to this division method, the narrative of this work was divided into and analyzed on sequences in this study in order to clarify what it means in each progress of the story. In order to examine the video expression of Hayao Miyazaki, it is necessary to deeply look into the characteristics of this film in terms of the development of expressions about a series of the hero’s life. Thus, there might be the limitations to ensure the universality of the discussion in this article by analyzing the writer’s life and hero’s view on the world and accessing equivocal and multi-level esthetics of his animation works behind of the visual simplicity from a certain aspect. As discussed in this study, however, the originality of Japanese animation content and its cultural background of the director “Hayao Miyazaki” are the resources valuable enough to understand the expression style of Japanese animation.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구 작품 “바람이 분다”는 “미야자키 하야오” 감독의 은퇴작품으로 2013년 9월에 개봉이 된 작품이다. 작품의 내용 속에는 주인공의 삶의 과정에서 어릴 적 꿈과 성장해가는 과정에서 야망 그리고 슬픔, 좌절에 대한 깊이 있는 은유와 환유적 표현으로 되어있다. 일반적으로 작가는 작품을 위한 표현으로 사물적 요소와 사건적 요소로 구분을 한다. 사건적 요소는 이야기의 필연성과 수행이고 사물적 요소는 플롯과 양상으로 구분된다. 이에 따라 본 작품에 대하여 내러티브를 시퀀스별로 구분, 분석하여 이야기의 전개 과정의 의미를 구분을 한다. 작가의 영상 표현을 탐구하기 위해 주인공의 일련의 과정에 대한 표현 전개를 가지고 작품의 특성을 심도 있게 살펴볼 필요가 있을 것이다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 작가의 삶과 작품 속의 주인공 캐릭터의 세계관을 분석하여 애니메이션의 시각적인 단순함 이면에 이중적이며, 다층적인 일본 애니메이션의 감독의 미학을 어느 특정 관점에서 접근하여 논의의 보편성을 부여한다는 것은 다소 무리가 있을 수 있다. 그러나 본 논문에서 논의한 “미야자키 하야오” 감독의 일본 애니메이션의 내용원형성과 문화적 배경은 일본 애니메이션의 표현양식을 이해하는 데 있어서 충분히 그 가치가 있다고 생각된다.
