웹 2.0 정치 UCC와 전자민주주의 -정당, 선거 그리고 촛불시민운동의 시민참여를 중심으로- = On the Web 2.0 Political UCC and E-Democracy -Focusing on the Civil Participation of Party, Election, and Candle Demonstration-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is done for the purpose of analyzing the social and political impacts of UCC, called UGC in USA, which is a new form of communication media produced with the web 2.0 technology. As a result of doing this work, it is found out that the UCC has two conflicting effects with regard to the development of democracy. One is that it increases the direct participation of people in political issues connected to class and group interests. The other is that it degenerates democracy by making mass participations a sort of entertainments. Not only UCCs emergent in North America and France in 2007 but UCCs appeared in the candle demonstration in Korea in 2008 produced stimulative information, which resulted in enlarging the citizens` participation in presidential election campaigns and social protests, because that kind of information is too effective to link on-line with off-line. At the same time, they however brought about a sort of setback of democracy. The reason is that they lacked interactive discussions, objective evaluations, and critical reflections, as a decisive limit.
