ABSTRACT

Research on Utilizing Information Communication Technology
in Developing Teaching Plans for Singing Classes

Through the medium of singing, our classes teach students to express music both through using human vocals and by conveying the emotions of the song. Using their voices, rather than conventional instruments, to express music, in our singing classes students allow their individuality to shine in their music. Utilizing a program of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in singing classes helps create an environment where students can have rich musical experiences encouraging them to express their thoughts and emotions through music.

The purpose of this research is to develop innovative teaching methods utilizing Information Communication Technology (ICT) to conduct a productive singing class. The study aims to synergize musicality and creativity in students by incorporating ICT in singing classes, while providing basic information to promote student participation during class.

To conduct an effective singing class, three ICT tools were used in this research:

First, usage of video clips and image files were made available through the Internet. It is crucial to provide educational resources that give students musical experience;such resources are imperative to enhance the regular lectures given by teachers. These image files and video clips obtained from the web motivate students to experience what they have learned.

Second, the application of the Sibelius program was necessary. The Sibelius program enhances the musicality and creativity of students, and encourage s participation from students during singing classes. It allows students to score and play out the tunes they have created. Furthermore, asaneasy-to-use tool for students, the Sibelius program in duces interest in students for the singing class by allowing them to input notes and symbols.

Third, the utilization of MS Powerpoint was pivotal. Teachers require tools that help organize and structure their lecture s in order for students to better understand the contents. Powerpoint served as an effective tool for summarizing and delivering important key points from the lecture to the students.

Utilizing the three ICT tools mentioned above, this research examined teaching plans for singing classes focusing on the songs Goun kkum, Jeulgeoun Bom, Edelweiss, Junghaksaengui Kkum. The four songs were listed in the earlier chapters of the textbooks, wherein were chosen nine out of sixteen government-approved middle school music textbooks for first graders.

As highlighted in this research, students are enabled to develop creativity by utilizing ICT in singing classes; by introducing musical experiences into teaching plans, music education becomes more interesting and engaging with active participation from students.

가창 수업은 인간의 목소리를 사용하여 음악의 느낌을 살려서 노래로 음악을 표현하는 수업이다. 가창 수업은 각 학생들의 목소리를 사용하여 음악을 표현하는 것으로써, 악기를 사용하는 것에 비해 학생 각자의 특징이 잘 나타나도록 음악을 표현할 수 있다.
ICT를 활용한 가창 수업은 학생들이 풍부한 음악적 경험을 하도록 환경을 조성하고 학생들이 자신의 느낌과 생각을 음악으로 쉽게 표현할 수 있도록 독려한다.
이 연구의 목적은 ICT를 활용하여 더 효과적인 가창 수업을 하기 위한 수업 방법을 모색한다. 가창 수업에서 ICT를 활용하여 학생들의 음악성과 창의성을 계발하고 가창 수업에 대한 참여도를 높일 수 있는 수업 방법에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다.


효과적인 가창 수업을 위해 이 논문에서 활용한 ICT의 종류는 다음의 3가지가 있다.
첫째, 인터넷을 사용한 동영상 파일과 이미지 파일을 활용하는 방법이 사용된다.
음악 수업은 학생들의 실제적인 경험을 하도록 도와주는 자료가 필요하다. 교사들이 말로 설명하는 것을 제외하고 학생들이 실제로 체험하여 느낄 수 있는 자료가 필요하다. 인터넷을 사용하여 얻어진 이미지 파일이나 동영상 파일은 학생들이 실제 경험을 하여 음악을 느낄 수 있도록 도움을 줄 수 있다.
둘째, 시벨리우스 프로그램 활용의 필요성이 있다.
학생들의 음악성과 창의성을 계발하고 가창 수업에 대한 참여도를 높이기 위한 프로그램이 필요하다. 시벨리우스 프로그램은 학생들이 스스로 생각한 음악을 직접 사보하고 자신이 사보한 음악을 들을 수 있다. 시벨리우스 프로그램은 사용 방법이 용이하여 학생들이 쉽게 사용할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 또 학생이 직접 음표와 여러 가지 악상 기호를 입력할 수 있으므로 가창 수업에 대해 흥미를 유발할 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 시벨리우스 프로그램의 장점들을 활용하여 효과적으로 가창 수업을 할 수 있다.
셋째, 파워포인트를 활용하는 것이 효과적이다.
교사가 음악 수업의 내용을 일목요연하게 정리하여 학생들에게 보여줄 수 있는 도구가 필요하다. 파워포인트는 수업의 중요한 학습 내용을 간략하게 정리하고 학생들에게 효과적으로 수업의 내용을 전달할 수 있다.
이 논문에서는 위와 같은 3가지의 ICT 활용 방법을 사용한 가창 수업 지도 방안을 모색하는데, 중학교 1학년 16종의 교과서 중에 9종의 교과서에서 4종의 교과서에 수록된 중학생의 꿈, 즐거운 봄, 에델바이스, 고운 꿈을 중심으로 한다.
이와 같이 ICT를 활용한 가창 수업을 하여 학생들의 창의성을 계발하고 각 음악 활동을 통하여 학생들이 적극적으로 참여하는 체험적이고 재미있는 수업이 될 수 있기를 바란다.
