Energy harvesting technology is drawing attention as an alternative to solving the battery problem of small electronic devices. A lot of research has been conducted worldwide. Among them, research has been conducted on how to use kinetic energy by human walking.
This paper introduces analysis of power conversion device of energy harvesting module for smart shoes. The boost converter uses switching elements to increase the output voltage by changing the duty ratio of a PWM signal. Therefore, circuit analysis of the boost converter must be performed to obtain the desired output voltage. The analysis of the boost converter makes it possible to design the boost converter circuit. To validate analysis of the boost converter, simulation results using Matlab/Simulink and PSIM and experimental results are presented.
