This study aims at giving some helps to students' textbook selections by comparing contents of Technology and Environment section in Grade 1’s technology & home economics textbooks having been developed according to the 9th revised curriculum with extrinsic purposes, and thus providing datum for developing new textbooks together with future curriculum.
The study classified ‘Construction Technology and Environment’ section in 2009 revised technology & home economics textbooks into ‘Construction Technology’s World,’ and ‘Experiences on Eco-Friendly Construction Technology and Problem-Solving Activities,’ and then analyzed how the suggested contents were progressed. After that, this study analyzed occupying portions among all textbook’s ranges in detail, and mainly checked whether its contents were described properly so that students could understand them clearly etc, and proposed a desirable methods especially.
Regarding to research results, proper pictures were suggested in each section and also the section contained contents through which students were able to understand learning things definitely and participate in the classes directly.
Therefore, class-participating rates of students could be raised, and it would be helpful usefully in respects of utilizing future learning aspects as well.
In relation with a proposition, it is judged that proper education fit to learning purposes could be carried out if integrating and supplementing textbooks’ similar contents by sections because total contents were a little different or there were parts to be supplemented, even though mid-section contents of 11 kind textbooks were similar as a whole.
In conclusion, this study expects that multidisciplinary researches are followed, and more developmental textbooks would come out in forthcoming revised textbooks.
