한국성인교육 분야에서 원격교육 연구동향 고찰 = Research Trends of Distance Education in Korean Adult Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends of distance education in Korean adult education and identify its characteristics. 142 Dissertation Abstracts (1984-2014) published in Korean graduate schools were subjected to a content analysis that focused on author's background, target, topic, and research method.
As a result of the study, the authors came from diverse major fields and the researchers who were educational technology major played a leading role in distance education. The most research target was the formal education including elementary, secondary and higher education. The teacher and learner has been consistently studied as a research topic. Quantitative research methods, especially survey were used as a common research method. Based on the review of the dissertation abstracts, the researcher suggests tasks for development of distance education in Korean adult education as an independent research area.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 성인교육 분야에서 원격교육의 위치를 조망하고자 1984년부터 2014년까지 발표된 142편의 석·박사학위논문을 대상으로 연구동향을 고찰하였다. 이때 연구자 배경, 연구대상, 연구주제, 연구방법을 분석준거로 사용하였다. 연구결과, 연구자의 소속은 교육대학원을 포함한 특수대학원이 69.0%였고 석사학위가 90.1%를 차지하였다. 세부전공은 교육공학, 평생교육, 컴퓨터교육, 교육행정, 교육학, 교과교육, 컴퓨터관련, 행정학, 미디어관련 등 다양하였고, 특히 교육공학전공에서 활발히 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구대상과 관련해서는 고등교육과 초·중등교육대상이 65.1%를 차지하였으며, 고등교육의 경우 원격대학대상이 79.5%를 차지하였다. 연구주제와 관련해서는 교수자 및 학습자가 35.9%로 가장 많았고, 연구방법과 관련해서는 양적연구가 51.1%를 차지한 반면 질적연구는 2.2%에 불과해 양적연구의 심한 의존도를 나타냈다. 연구결과를 종합하여 한국 성인교육 분야에서 원격교육 연구의 특징과 의미를 논의하였고, 발전방향을 위한 구체적 과제를 제언하였다.
