중도 탈락한 대학 체육특기자의 학업적응 과정

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 대학 체육특기자의 중도탈락원인을 심층적으로 분석하여 그들의 학업적응 과정을 탐색한 연구이다. 선수경력이 4년 이상인 11명의 학생을 참여자로 선정하였으며, 자료분석은 Strauss 와 Corbin(1998)이 제시한 근거이론방법의 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩 절차에 따라 자료수집을 분석하여 지속적인 비교분석을 실시하였다. 이에 따라 총180개의 개념, 20개의 하위범주, 9개의 상위범주를 도출하였다.
첫째, 수집된 자료를 분석한 연구 패러다임 모형에서 중심현상은 '학업에 대한 스트레스와 미래의 고민'으로 이해할 수 있었다. 이들은 중도탈락 후 학생에 대한 교수의 무관심과 수업적응의 어려움, 그리고 미래 직업에 대한 고민으로 많은 스트레스를 받고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 중도탈락 운동선수의 중심현상인 '학업의 스트레스와 미래에 대한 고민'은 운동을 그만두게 된 여러 가지의 이유로 인한 인과적 상황에서 발생하였다. 운동을 그만두게 된 이유로는 코치·감독의 차별, 잦은 부상, 불투명한 미래, 자신의 한계에 대한 이유로 나타났다.
셋째, 이들에게 학생들과 교수들의 관계 형성의 어려움과 수업적응의 어려움이 맥락적 상황에서 나타났다. 또한 중심현상과 관련하여 상호작용을 촉진하는 중재적 조건은 선배들의 조언을 통한 가교역할과 교수님들의 상담을 통한 나침반 역할로 분류할 수 있다. 상호전략은 공부에 대한 노력, 새로운 목표설정, 긍정적인 마인드가 그들에게 앞으로의 방향을 제시하는데 있어서 긍정적인 반응으로 작용하였다.
이로 인하여 연구 참여자들은 시간이 지나면서 차츰 일반학생들과 똑같은 생활에 적응해 나갔으며, 미래에 대한 목표를 설정하여 그 목표를 실천하기 위한 삶을 살아가고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The research was done to find out the process of school adoption of University student athlete by closely analyzing the reasons of dropping out in halfway. 11 participants with four year experience as student athletes were selected. The data analysis was based on open coding and axial coding and selective coding from the grounded theory of Strauss & Corbin(1998). The research was continuously analyzed with comparison. Total of 180 concepts were found, subordinate concepts were 20 and super ordinate concepts were 9.
First, from the research paradigm model of collected data, the hub phenomenon was 'the stressfulness of studies and future worries'. After dropping out as athletes, they had difficulties and stress from professors' unconcern for them, their studies and their future career.
Second, the hub phenomenon of the dropped out athlete's stressfulness of studies and future worries came from the cause and effect results of quitting the athlete career.
Third, their difficult relationship with professors and academic failure showed from interconnected situation. Also, the intercessional conditions that promote the mutual action regarding the hub phenomenon were the seniors' advice as the bridge and professors' counseling as guidance. Mutual strategies are defined as showing some effort in their studies, setting their future goals and their positive minds as well. Those factors shall play an important roles for them to proceed.
As time passed, participants gradually fitted well into their lives as others and set their future goals to fulfill their purpose.
