정신장애인의 자기결정에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 정신장애인의 자기결정에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 실증적으로 규명하며, 탐색적인 차원에서 관련 요인들의 상호작용효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이에 203명의 정신장애인들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이중 193명을 대상으로 중다회귀분석 및 이원변량분석을 활용하여 연구결과를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구사회학적 변수로 구성된 모델1의 모형에서 정신장애인의 자기결정에 영향을 주는 요인은 ‘학력(β=.252)’으로 나타났다. 인구사회학적 변수와 개인적 요인(사회적 기능, 증상, 심리적 임파워먼트)이 포함된 모델2에서는 ‘심리적 임파워먼트(β=.494)’와 ‘사회적 기능(β=.210)’, ‘학력(β=.122)’이 자기결정에 영향을 주는 변수로 나타났다. 인구사회학적 변수, 개인적 요인, 환경적 요인(가족지지, 친구지지, 정신보건서비스환경)까지 모두 포함된 모델3에서 자기결정에 영향을 미치는 유의미한 변수로는 ‘가족지지(β=.292)’와 ‘심리적 임파워먼트(β=.281)’, ‘사회적 기능(β=.216)’, ‘친구지지(β=.159)’가 나타났다.이중에서 정신장애인의 자기결정에 가장 영향을 미치는 변수는 ‘가족지지’로 나타났다.
둘째, 자기결정은 자기결정능력과 자기결정기회의 하위요인으로 구성되므로 하위요인별로 분석한 결과, 자기결정능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 ‘심리적 임파워먼트(β=.264)’,‘사회적 기능(β=.264)’,‘가족지지(β=.141)’로 나타났으며, 자기결정기회에 영향을 미치는 요인은 ‘가족지지(β=.436)’와 친구지지(β=.172)로 나타났다.셋째,정신장애인의 자기결정에 있어서 가족지지와 증상의 상호작용효과를 분석한 결과, 정신장애인의 자기결정에 있어서 증상과 가족지지의 상호작용효과가 있음이 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 정신장애인의 자기결정향상을 위한 정신보건사회복지의 이론적?실천적 함의를 제언하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explored two issues in regard to the factors affecting the self-determination among people with psychiatric disabilities. First, the influences of the demographics, personal and environment factor variables on self-determination among people with psychiatric disabilities were examined. Second, the interaction effect between the personal and environment factors on self-determination among people with psychiatric disabilities. The data was collected from 193 participants with psychiatric disabilities in community mental health centers.
The results of this study were as follows: Findings suggested that the self-determination among people with psychiatric disabilities were significantly associated with psychological empowerment, social functioning, family support, and friends support. Especially, family factors were found to be the most significant factors in order to explain the self-determination. Also, the family support among people with psychiatric disabilities buffered the impact of psychiatric symptoms on the self-determination among people with psychiatric disabilities. According to the results, implications for research and practice were discussed.
