<P>In this study, we showed the distortion of the central axis of the donor moiety can switch critically the rate of the reverse intersystem crossing (<I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB>) process, which is the trigger point to modulate the lifetime of delayed fluorescence. To achieve <I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB>, what we desired (10<SUP>5</SUP> to 10<SUP>6</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>) in a series of donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) type thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials, the donor groups (phenoxazine and phenothiazine) were selectively introduced. Maintaining the near orthogonality between donor and acceptor (benzonitrile) moiety, the occurrence of the distortion of the central axis of the donor moiety could make the effect of locally excited triplet state (<SUP>3</SUP>LE). In other words, the interaction between <SUP>3</SUP>LE and the charge transfer counterparts (i.e., <SUP>1</SUP>CT and <SUP>3</SUP>CT) contributes an opposite propensity of <I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB> for each of the target TADF materials when those are dissolved in solution and condensed in solid state. Herein, we have theoretically and experimentally shown the photophysical behavior of common D-A-D type TADF upon the different systems.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

본 연구에서는 한개의 흡착탑에서 다음과 같은 과정이 일어나는 시스템을 대상으로 하였다. 흡착탑 위에서는 강한 흡착성분이 제거된 약한 흡착성분의 기체가 생산되고 이중의 일부가 흡착탑으로 reflux 되어지며, 흡착탑의 아래에서는 강한 흡착성분이 농축된 기체가 생산되어져 이중의 일부가 reflux 되어진다. 원료기체는 흡착탑 중간의 적당한 위치에서 주입이 된다. 이와 같은 공정이 희박시스템의 이성분 기체를 원료로 하여 조업될 때 공정변수가 제품의 농축도에 어떻게 영향을 미치게 되는지 조사하였다. 흡착탑 안에서 일어나는 현상을 단순화 시키기 위해서 local equilibrium theory를 사용하였고 등온흡착식은 독립적인 선형식을 따르는 경우를 취급하였다. 한편 원료기체가 주입되는 위치가 분리결과에 어떤 영향을 미치게 되는지 검토하여 농축된 두종류 기체의 생산이 가능한 조업의 범위를 찾아내었다.
A New Mass Transfor Model for Cyclic Adsorption and Desorption

This article presents a new mass transfer model which describes mass transfer rates in a spherical particle where cyclic adsorption and desorption occur. The parameters in the model equation were determined by matching the exact numerical solution to the prediction of this rate law over a range of cycle times. The maximum error was found to be 4.3 %. Since the parameters are independent of cycle time, this model equation can be generally used for cyclic adsorption and desorption process regardless of the cycle time and cycle configuration.
Investigation of the Validity of the Image Model for the Analysis of Spherical Wave Reflection

The validity of the image model is investigated both analytically and experimentally in a half space with an infinite single reflecting surface present. This paper exploits the Sommerfeld integral that represents the exact solution for the reflected field in the half space. The solution is shown to be obtained by direct numerical integration which yields more accurate and stable results. The predicted results from the image model are compared to those from the direct numerical integration of the Sommerfeld integral. It is also experimentally demonstrated that the image model gives acceptably accurate results. It is of significance that this paper reveals analytical and experimental validation of using the image model except near-grazing incidence.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a key mediator of angiogenesis and critical for normal embryonic development and repair of pathophysiological conditions in adults. Although phospholipase D (PLD) activity has been implicated in angiogenic processes, its role in VEGF signaling during angiogenesis in mammals is unclear. Here, we found that silencing of PLD2 by siRNA blocked VEGF-mediated signaling in immortalized human umbilical vein endothelial cells (iHUVECs). Also, VEGF-induced endothelial cell survival, proliferation, migration, and tube formation were inhibited by PLD2 silencing. Furthermore, while Pld2-knockout mice exhibited normal development, loss of PLD2 inhibited VEGF-mediated ex vivo angiogenesis. These findings suggest that PLD2 functions as a key mediator in the VEGF-mediated angiogenic functions of endothelial cells. [BMB Reports 2016; 49(3): 191-196]
중형 공동수조에서의 프로펠러 단독특성에 대한 위벽효과 보정 연구

공동수조와 예인수조에서의 프로펠러 단독특성 차이를 보정할 수 있는 위벽효과 연구를 수행하였다. 우선 공동수조의 실험에서 프로펠러의 상류가 아닌 작동 평면 위치에서 계측된 유속을 프로펠러 전진속도로 정의할 경우, 위벽효과의 수정 량 및 단독특성차이가 현저히 줄어드는 것을 확인하였다. 다음으로 양력판 이론에 의한 단독특성 계산을 통해, 프로펠러 평면에서의 위벽효과를 구하고 앞의 결과에 추가적인 보정을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 예인수조에서의 단독특성과 더욱 더 좋은 일치를 보여 주는 것을 확인하였다. This paper studies the differences due to the wall effect in propeller open water(POW) characteristics tested in a towing tank and in a medium size cavitation tunnel(CT). When the advanced velocity of the propeller is defined as the flow velocity measured in the plane of propeller, POW characteristics resulting from CT has a better relationship with them of towing tank. To obtain the wall effect in the propeller plane, numerical computation using the lifting panel theory is performed with and without the wall around a propeller. Then, POW results in CT are corrected based on the wall effect from numerical results. The POW results obtained from this procedure show a better agreement with the experimental results in the towing tank.

N/A L-3[123I]iodo-methyltyrosine([123I] IMT) was synthesized by electrophilic radio-iodination using chloramine-T and Iodobead in phosphate buffered solution. And the biodistribution was examined in 9L glioma bearing rats. The radiosynthesis of [123I] IMT with iodobead was simpler and higher in radiochemical yield(88%) than the method using chloramine-T(83%) as radioiodinating reagent. The highest yield was obtained from the reaction using 1 piece of Iodobead, 200μg α- methyltyrosine in 100μl phosphate-buffered solution (pH 5.5) and the reaction was completed in 7min. 24hours after the injection, the biodistribution in 9L glioma transplanted rats revealed the in vivo deiodination, the excretion via kidney, and 3 times higher uptake in the tumor than normal brain. These results suggest the promising clinical use of [123I]IMT in the various ious malignancies.

The sapphire wafer for blue light emitting davice was manufactured by the implementation of the chemical and mechanical polishing pricess. The surface polishing of crystalline sapphire wafer was characterized by zeta petentoal measurement, The reduction process with the alkali slurry provides the surface chemical reaction with sapphire atorms, The-poly urethane pad also provides the frictional force to take out the chemically-reacted. The surface roughness was measured by the atomic force mieroscope and the crystalline quality was characterized by the double erystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
