Generation of Ion-Selective Artificial Membranes

Cell membranes are selectively permeable to ions, which is essential for cellular survival. The control of ion permeability is delicately regulated by ion channels, wherein ion-binding motifs are located in a row, providing a continuous pathway for ions to selectively pass through the cell membranes. Because the selective ion channels are highly applicable to diverse fields ranging from fundamental membrane studies to development of ultra-selective biosensors, there have been ceaseless efforts to artificially create the ion channels. In this work, by mimicking the cell membranes in nature, we successfully created ion-selective artificial membranes that contain molecular recognition-based synthetic channels. As the selective permeability system was composed of a freestanding lipid bilayer, ion-binding nucleic acid nanostructure, and hydrophobic anchor for lipid incorporation, it preferentially transported potassium ions among diverse metal ions.
환경에 따른 과제 지향적 일상생활동작 훈련이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 일상생활에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of task oriented ADL exercise in different environments in patients with chronic stroke. Methods: A total of 28 patients with hemiplegia resulting from stroke were included in this study. The patients were randomized into two groups. The control group(n=14) was received neurodevelopment therapy + task oriented ADL exercise and experimental group(n=14) was received neurodevelopment therapy + home based task oriented ADL exercise for 30 minutes twice per week during 6weeks. A task oriented ADL exercise pretest and postest design was used examine the change of FIM(Functional Independent Measure) and K-MBI(Korea-Modified Bathel Index) at the completion of 6 weeks task oriented ADL exercise. Results: After 6 weeks, the experimental group compared with control group showed a significant improvement(p<.05) in FIM and K-MBI scores. Conclusion: The results indicate that the home based task oriented ADL exercise improves functions in the persons with chronic stroke.
요가 요통체조와 요부 신전근 지구력 운동이 만성요통 환자의 통증에 미치는 영향

Purpose: In the present study, the degree of subjective pain in chronic low back pain patients through the course of six week of yoga low back pain exercise and lumbar extensor muscle strengthening training was analyzed, and a systematic and effective home exercise therapy program was proposed. Methods: For this study, we sampled 21 random patients with chronic low back pain who were receiving outpatient treatment at G Hospital Pusan, and conducted experiment for six weeks by applying yoga low back pain exercise+modalities (7) lumbar extensor muscle endurance exercise+ modalities (7) and modalities (7). To measure the degree of pain, the visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry Low Back Pain Questionnaire were used. Pain was measured before the experiment and after six weeks. Results: Significant differences were observed between yoga, extensor muscle endurance exercise and modalities (VAS=0.00 Oswestry=0.00). The yoga and extensor endurance muscle exercise reduced low back pain by more than the modalities. Conclusion: This study will be used to develop a preventive and reduction method of LBP. Therefore, Yoga and extensor muscle endurance exercise are appropriate for use as a home program exercise to reduce low back pain in patients.
시뮬레이션 과제 수행이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 능력에 미치는 효과

Purpose:This study was performed to examine the effect of stimulation task-oriented training on the balance ability of the hemiplegic patients caused by stroke. Methods:We made a random sampling of 25 hemiplegic patients caused by stroke. 10 patients (experimental group) were treated by simulation Task-oriented training and Conventional training used by balance pad. The other 10 patients (control group) were only treated by Conventional training used by balance pad. During the training, 3 patients from the experimental group and 2 patients from the control group were excluded by private affairs. The control group has done Conventional training 6 times a week for 6 weeks. And experimental group has done Simulation task-oriented training two times, conventional training four times a week for 6 weeks. Balance ability was assessed by Fuctional Reaching Test (FRT) : unilateral and bilateral reaching. Results:In comparison of FRT before and after training, two groups all was significantly improved(p<05). But bilateral reaching variation was significantly improved in experimental group. Conclusion:we can use simulation Task-oriented training valuably to increase balance ability of hemiplegic patients.
WC 첨가 방법에 따른 Ti(CN)-Co/Ni 계 서멧트의 미세조직 및 특성변화

In the Ti(CN)-Co/Ni cermet, WC is an effective additive for increasing sinterability and mechanical properties such as toughness and hardness. In this work, WC, (WTi)C and (WTi)(CN) were used as the source of WC and their effects were investigated in the respect of microstructural evolution and mechanical properties. Regardless of the kinds of WC sources, the hard phase with dark core and bright rim structure was observed in the Ti(CN)-Co/Ni cermet under the incorporation of relatively small amount of WC. However, hard phases with bright core began to appear and their frequency increased with the increase of all kinds of WC source addition. The ratio of bright core to dark one in the (TiW)(CN)-Co/Ni cermet was greatest under the incorporation of (WTi)C compared at the same equivalent amount of WC. The mechanical properties were improved with the addition of WC irrespective of the kinds of sources, but the addition of (WTi)(CN) was less effective for the increase of fracture toughness.
