Effects of Chiropractic Care on Postural Change of Scoliosis Patients
HanSuk Jung,Hiromi Takamatsu,Akiko Takaki 보완대체의학연구소 2011 Research Journal of Complementary and Alternative Vol.- No.2
Commonly reported treatments for reducing curve progression include bracing, various surgeries, intensive exercise programs, and/or muscle re-education through biofeedback and electrical stimulation. In Japan, treatments of scoliosis are primarily surgery, prosthetic fitting (corset fitting), and conservative treatment. These things are not treatments for removing basic causes, but for symptomatic treatments. Furthermore, the overall medical management for treating scoliosis is considered expensive and consumed much time. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of chiropractic care on postural improvement of scoliosis patients. The evaluation for posture in this study was conducted with Chiroprint. Using Chiroprint, before-treatment and aftertreatment postures of each patient were compared and the posture changes were evaluated. The postures of scoliosis patients improved after chiropractic care. This suggests that chiropractic care can be clinically prescribed for postural improvement of scoliosis patients
Postural Science Restoring the Original proper Posture with a Postural Control

In the world of chiropractic, it is considered that the human body will restore its proper posture and ideal spinal alignment by adjusting vertebral subluxations. It is because the range of joint motion and muscle balance are restored by adjusting vertebral subluxations in conjunction with the automatic support of postural control and postural reflexes. However, among clinical cases, some patients constantly experience a subluxation at the same location or have a recurrent subluxation immediately after getting adjusted at a single treatment, or even worse, some patients do not see any improvement in symptoms several months later. One of the reasons behind this is that adjusting subluxations does not provide a proper posture, which is also apparent from clinical data. If that is so, what is the reason why proper posture is not restored although subluxations are adjusted? In the human body, the postural control and postural reflexes are automatically generated as motor outputs after incoming visual information, somato-sensory information and vestibular sensation information are integrated at the central nervous system. Thus, it was concluded that if there is a problem with the input information and as a result of the postural control and postural reflexes applied with that information, it does not regain proper posture. In this study, we focused on the input of visual information to discuss evidence and corrective method on the underlying assumption that one of the reasons of generating improper posture is attributable to the input of visual information.

The purpose of this research is to consider influence of changes of posture to the lungs. There is a lot of literature about ‘kyphosis’, but there is not much literature concerning ‘a lateral-displacement’. Therefore, we would like to consider influence of ‘Scoliosis’ to the lungs. Using a spirometer, we will research differences caused by posture changes in an upright stance and a right-lateral flexion stance. We hope to make a good reference for the chiropractic approach. As a result, we have noticed that changes of posture influence the lung functions.

It has been proven that sports performance and bending the pelvis forward are closely related. It is not merely the direction of your head as it bends forward from your hip that affects posture, but your Gerdy's tubercle, trochanter major hump, and the opening of external acoustic meatus should also be aligned. It can also be said that if you move your upper torso and lower torso below an angle of 10 degrees, then the number of vertical jumps, drop jumps, or rebound jumps, would change after comparision. For a vertical jump, no large differences in performance improvement could be seen, but for drop jumps and rebound jumps especially, it was not the hip position that made any difference. Instead, it is the direction of your head and adjusting the posture of your body in which the biggest improvements can be seen. This can be thought of as the biggest relationship in improving ones performance.

This study have purpose for comparing ratio of range of motion which is effected from range of motion in cervical vertebrae in case of myofascial release technique and stretching with using ConnecTX. For this, We have selected randomly for 30 university student in Chung Nam SeoSan. So we have compared change of range of motion with suing ConnecTX therapy. And conclusion is followed. 1. There are increasing ratio of motion in cervical vertebrae after processing before the ConnecTX therapy and stretching on area of cervical vertebrae. 2. ConnecTX therapy have statistically increasing range of motion in every single gesture such as flexion, extension, left rotation. 3. Ratio of change in cervical vertebrae according with ConncTX therapy and stretching have increase than stretching in case of right and left lateral flexion and right rotation. With summarzing result of this study, there are meaningful effect on range of motion in cervical vertebrae from ConnecTX therapy, stretching. And from this point, this have considered that there are suggestion which can be used according with characteristic and life habit of patient who have stretching.

The main purpose of this study is to discover the level of foot pain in accordance with the frequency and time of wearing high-heeled shoes. This study looked at degree of foot pain of female students who major in air tourism and service in college. For this study, high-heeled shoes were those whose heel is greater than 7cm. To collect the required information a total of 200 students, 50 students from each year, were asked to fill in the questionnaire. It consisted of 21 questions: 5 personal information questions, 6 concerning the wearing of high-heeled shoes, and 10 regarding the experience of pain from the high-heeled shoes. The method of analysis is verified by frequency, percentage and ranking of the results. I expected that the degree of foot pain will increase as the time and frequency of wearing of high-heeled shoes increases, but the sophomores gave the highest score of pain. I found that as they moved to a higher academic year, their low back pain got worse.

The purpose of this study a trend that is increasing idiopathic scoliosis, it was considered lateral curvature of spine more than 5 degree as nonpostural scoliosis, which were analyzed prevalence rate, degree, distribution of size, direction of curvature, pattern of curve for helpful to the direction of the treatment and awareness, prevention and maintenance for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. From 2012 May to 2015 August, a total of 474 that was taken from H hospital in Seosan City, just more than 5° of the simple standing entire spine x-rays Analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. The ratio of men and women in accordance with idiopathic scoliosis, man are 186 patients (39.2%), and women are 288 patients (60.8%), women higher than man. The size of the curve is accounted for more than half (54%) that from 10 degree to 19 degree. Types of curve is thoracic curvature showed 175 patients (36.9%), the right direction of curvature is twice higher than opposite direction.

The purpose of this is to explore the impact on the participate intent to spinal manipulation therapy programs by the university students of life habits posture. This study was performed using a structured questionnaire from June 19 to October 19, 2015. The questionnaire copies collected from 305 of healthy students(Male:95, Female:210) were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Factor analysis, Reliability Analysis, Regression analysis. The following are the results: When pain experience due to the everyday posture, lower back pain, 202 people (66.2%), shoulder pain, 190 patients (62.3%), neck pain experience was 173 patients (56.7%), hand / pain in the arm 151 people (49.5%), knee / leg pain, 150 patients (49.2%) appeared in the order of experience. The person with musculoskeletal pain experienced is higher than the person without musculoskeletal pain experienced for participate intent to postural correction programs. especially back pain, shoulder pain the order of as high a degree of experience neck pain posture correction program is recommended (p<0.001). Therefore this requires students to professional training and positive attitude of musculoskeletal disorders and the study can be confirmed and efficient posture correction program development is required.
