In summer, cooling is needed because excessive temperature inside greenhouse increase causing a negative influence on the growth of crops in Korea. In this study, mathematical model predicting the temperature change in the greenhouse was developed through numerical analysis concerning solar radiation and heat exchange between inflow air and heat exchanger and then verification of the simulation was performed with the experimental data. For the cooling experiment, a pilot scale greenhouse was built, a duct and a cooling fin and a fan were installed for inflow of the air for reducing temperature. Numerical analysis for predicting temperature change in the greenhouse was done by simulation using Matlab (R2016a, The Mathworks INC, USA). When the experimental results was compared with the numerical simulation values, R-squared and RMSE (root mean square error) were showed 0.9502, 0.7081, respectively. It was showed that predicting temperature change inside the greenhouse was good agreement with the experimental result.
목재펠릿보일러 화격자 상 노즐형 버너핀의 적용에 따른 열효율 비교분석

The main objective of this study was to improve the wood pellet boiler and overcome inefficient air supply to the grate in the combustion chamber. Nozzle-type burner pins were attached to the grate to increase the contact area between the solid fuel (pellets) in the grate and the supplied air. In order to verify the increase in thermal efficiency due to the nozzle-type burner pins, comparative experiments were conducted using the same two wood pellet boilers. Two hours of experiments were conducted under the same external conditions (amount of oxidizer, load, ambient temperature, and pellet consumption). The results showed that the combustion characteristics of the flue gas from the boiler with burner pins were improved compared to those of the conventional boiler: the carbon dioxide content was increased, and the thermal efficiency was increased by 2.51%. The contact area between the wood pellets in the grate and the air supply was increased by the nozzle-type burner pins; hence, this boiler showed an improved combustion performance compared to that of the conventional burner system.
농업부산물 바이오매스의 온도별 질량감소에 따른 반탄화(torrefaction) 수율 예측 및 특성분석

Recently, global warming and environmental pollution are accelerating because of the continuous use of fossil fuels. Energy sources from biomass are considered one of the possible solutions to overcome this problem. In this study, application of agricultural by-products as new bioenergy resources through torrefaction was investigated. Pepper stems were selected from among domestic agricultural by-products to perform this energy conversion process. The sample was crushed and separated (standard testing sieve) into particles of 2.36 mm or less. The selected materials were injected into a prototype capsule, and the experiment was repeated three times for 10 min at a reaction temperature of 200°C, 230°C, or 270°C for up to 40 min. Mass reduction was measured after 1 h of cooling to minimize rapid reaction with oxygen in the atmosphere. Frequency factor coefficients and activation energy of lignocellulosic biomass were investigated for simulation analysis. The reaction rate constants were derived from the experimental results, and mass reduction was predicted with respect to different temperatures through a simulation. The experimental results were in good agreement with the simulation values 0.95 of the correlation and 0.46 of the RMSE. It will be necessary to develop a model that includes dry moisture, particle size, and reactor shape, because these factors may have a significant influence on the torrefaction process.
