This experiment was carried out to compare and analyze the difference between normal milk and colostrum which was daily collected for 7 days from Holstein cow feeded in Korea. The results obtained from the change of nutritional components, each casein content and the distributional pattern of the casein by molecular weight were as follows : 1. The average content of fat, protein ash and casein in colostrum was higher than normal milk by 0.69%, 2.41%, 0.02%, 0.55% respectively, but lactose was lower than normal milk by 0.24%. 2. The average content of ??-casein, -casein in colostrum was higher than normal milk by 7.4%, 0.6% respectively, but β-casein was lower than normal milk by 8.25%. 3. As lactation went on, ??-casein was generally decreasing, β-casein increasing, -casein more or less fluctuating but its content was highest on 3th days in colostrum. 4. The electrophotograms showed that four bands were appeared on the first day of colotrum, five bands on the 6th day of colostrum and seven bands on the normal milk, that is, as the lactation went on the number of band also increased. 5. Colostrum and normal milk showed 3 peaks which were analyzed by Sephadex G-200 column chromatography, and especially the 7th day colostrum was similiar to normal milk in terms of peak.
