지역사회에서 통합고용된 성인 지적장애인의 근로 경험에 관한 연구

통합고용 환경에서의 근로 경험은 지적장애인들의 사회통합을 도모할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 본 연구는 성인 지적장애인의 통합고용 경험을 이해하기 위해 통합고용 환경에서 근무하고 있는 20명의 성인 지적장애인을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 주제분석 방법을 이용한 분석 결과, 3개의 대주제와 11개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 본 연구에서 통합고용된 성인 지적장애인은 다양한 사회적 관계를 경험하였고, 업무를 수행하면서 스트레스와 성장을 경험하였다. 또한, 경제활동을 통해 자신의 여가생활 및 가족의 생계유지에 기여하였고 미래의 자립을 도모하는 기반이 되었다. 본 연구는 지적장애인 근로자들이 통합고용을 통해 사회통합을 도모할 수 있도록 직장 내 사회적 관계 향상 교육, 장애인 및 비장애인 근로자를 위한 장애인식 개선 프로그램, 직장 내 스트레스 완화를 위한 상담서비스, 멘토링 지원의 서비스 개발, 장애 특성을 고려한 업무 배치 시스템, 적절한 수준의 보상의 필요성을 제언하였다. Work experiences in integrated employment can provide opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities to engage in the community. We conducted in-depth interviews with 20 community-integrated workers with intellectual disabilities to understand their work experiences in integrated employment. Thematic analyses yielded three themes and 11 subthemes. Participants in integrated employment experienced various social relationships, work-related stress, and growth. Their regular earnings through work contributed to enjoying their personal life, maintaining their family's household, and planning an independent life in the near future. This study highlights the need to develop education that improves social relationships in the workplace, disability awareness program for workers with and without disabilities, counseling services for relieving stress at work, mentoring support, a system that assigns work considering disability, and appropriate compensation, which could promote community integration through integrated employment among workers with intellectual disabilities.

본 연구는 포토보이스 연구방법을 이용하여 지적장애 청소년이 사회적 관계에서 경험하는 어려움과 바람을 탐색하였다. 일반 고등학교에 재학 중인 지적장애 청소년 6명(평균연령=18.33세)은 7회기로 구성된 포토보이스 프로그램에 참여 하였다. 이들은 집단토의를 통해 사람들과의 관계에 대한 구체적인 주제를 선정하였고, 선정된 주제와 관련한 사진을 직접 촬영하여 참여자들과 공유하였다. 본 연구에서는 지적장애 청소년들의 5가지 사회적 관계(친구, 학교 선생님, 이성친구, 부모님, 필요한 사람)와 관련하여 총 15가지 하위주제-(1)친구들과의 관계(친구들과 어울리지 못해 외롭고 고독함, 친구들로부터 놀림과 괴롭힘을 당함, 친구들과의 관계를 회복하기 위해 노력함), (2)학교 선생님과의 관계(나의 마음을 이해해 주는 선생님께 감사함, 선생님과 교류가 많지 않아 속상함, 선생님이 나의 학교생활에 관심을 가져주기를 바람), (3)이성친구와의 관계(이성친구와 교제하고 싶음, 이성친구를 사귀는 것이 두렵고 걱정됨, 이성친구를 사귀기 위해 노력함), (4) 부모님과의 관계(부모님의 한결같은 사랑에 감사함, 부모님과 함께 하는 시간이 즐거움, 아버지와 관계가 소원하여 아쉬움), (5)나에게 필요한 사람(나와 함께 해 주는 사람, 나의 어려움을 도와주는 사람, 나를 포기하지 않는 사람)-가 도출되었다. 본 연구는 지적장애 청소년의 사회적 관계를 증진시키기 위해 또래관계 향상 프로그램 및 또래갈등 대처방식 훈련, 이성관계 교육, 사회적 기술 강화, 비장애 청소년 및 교사, 사회복지사를 대상으로 하는 장애학생의 사회적 욕구에 대한 교육 등 사회복지실천적 함의를 제공하였다. This study explored challenges and desires related to social relationships among adoles cents with intellectual disabilities, using the photovoice method. Six adolescents with intel lectual disabilities (M = 18.33 years) who are attending a general high school participated in 7 sessions of a photovoice program. They selected themes related to social relationships through group discussions and shared their photos related to the themes with other partic ipants. Our study yielded 15 subthemes within 5 social relationships (peers, teachers, boy friends/girlfriends, parents, persons whom I need) from adolescents with intellectual dis abilities as follows: relationships with peers (feeling lonely and left out, being teased and bullied by peers, making efforts to fix damaged relationships with friends), relationships with teachers (feeling appreciated by teachers who understand me, lacking interactions with teachers, wanting teachers to show they care about my school life), relationships with boyfriends/girlfriends (wanting to have a boyfriend/girlfriend, feeling worried and fearful about having a boyfriend/girlfriend, trying to attract a boyfriend/girlfriend), relationships with parents (being thankful to parents for their unconditioned love, enjoying time with parents, feeling bad because of not being close to father), persons whom I need (persons who enjoy spending time with me, persons who help me, persons who never give up on me). This study provides implications for social work practice, such as training for im proving peer relationships and coping with peer conflict, education for fostering healthy romantic relationships, training for promoting social skills of adolescents with intellectual disabilities, and education for increasing awareness of the social needs of students with in tellectual disabilities among peers without disabilities, teachers, and social workers.
