        In order to remove the brain tumor where it locates in the anterocentral skull base, doctors may have surgery through the nasal cavity using endoscope, by removing a part of the nasal septum, rather than by opening the cranium. This operation method shows a tendency to increase due to the surgery accuracy caused by a clear view from endoscopy, shortened operation hours, and lower riskiness compared to cranioplasty, although there is a possibility that functions of the nose may decreases. In this paper, the numerical investigation has been conducted on the nasal cavity where posterosuperior part of the nasal septum has removed in the process of transnasal endoscopic surgery of anterocentral skull base. With the high resolution CT data and a careful treatment of the model surface under the ENT doctor’s advice yielded quite sophisticated cavity models for the numerical simulation. We assumed laminar flow and 200 million grid was applied with the layer near the wall. After removing a part of nasal septum, pressure drop was larger and velocity and wall shear stress was locally higher than the normal nasal cavity, which may cause epistaxis or inflammation. However, when it comes to heat transfer, surgery model was better performed. Especially, the ratio of flow rate of upper airway increased, and it remains curiosity on how high velocity of air will affect signal transduction from olfactory cells to brain.
