A control logic is proposed that it is possible to quickly recover the vacuum pressure of the brake booster to generate the braking forces in any situation for HEV. The control strategy is that a part of the engine torque required to keep the idle speed is replaced with the electric motor torque so as to reduce the opening angle of ISA. Any additional equipment to compensate the brake booster pressure dosen’t need to be added in HEV if the control logic is applied. The validity of the designed control logic is verified by tests in real car.

Control Logic is proposed that it is possible to reduce toxic exhaust gas by obtaining fast light-off time of catalyst. The control strategy is that heating the catalyst by delaying ignition time and at the same time adding lacking torque by using electrical motor to maintain idle torque. Any additional equipment to compensate the idle torque does not need to be added in HEV if the control logic is applied. The validity of the designed control logic is verified by tests in real car.
