      • Spent Caustic 폐수에 포함된 sulfate의 생물학적 저해작용

        This study was conducted to set up operating criteria such as rational mixing ratio and critical concentrations of sulfate in biological treatment process when the abnormal conditions of the plants broke out. To assess the inhibition effects of influent of Spent Caustic wastewater on the biological treatability, a series of batch reactor test and respirometry study were conducted. Respirometer were employed to evaluate the biological treatability and inhibition effect of sulfate on wastewater generated from each process of petrochemical industry. It can be suggested that the optimum mixing ratio(caustic tank effluent : influent of aeration tank) should be below 10% in order for the biological inhibition effects be reduced, and the critical concentration of sulfate causing the inhibition effect in biological treatment process was 5800mg/l.

        A series of laboratory experiment was conducted to find out the effects of air flow rates on the reaction characteristics and the odorous gas generation in composting of fishery waste sludge. The results obtained were summarized as follows. 1. To obtain the more effective results of fermentation temperature, air flow rate should be controlled and operated in the range of 50-100ℓ/hr.㎥. 2. The contents of organic matters, water contents, and organic nitrogen in compost were decreased with the progress of composting. Actual changes of nitrogen in the fishery waste sludge showed the different tendency to changes of organic nitrogen in the common waste sludge. The loss of nitrogen in compost was highest with the lapse of composting time and its loss in 4weeks after composting was 50%. 3. The C/N ratios were increased rapidly within 2weeks and thereafter the C/N ratios were decreased slightly with the lapse of composting time. The final value of C/N ratio was 10.8. 4. The concentration of odorous gases were the highest in the initial periods, thereafter gradually decreased until 28 says after composting. But ammonia gas was the highest at 14 days after composting, thereafter gradually decreased. The highest amount of hydrogen sulfide was dominantly evolved from fishery waste sludge.

        A repirometry study were conducted to assess the effects of inhibition on the biological treatability of petrochemical wastewater from influent of harzardous wastewater. The constituents of wastewater to inhibit biological reaction were unbalance of nutrients and high sulfate concentration. From the results of respirometry. the critical F/M ratio was 0.055 d^(-1) for the biological inhibition effect, the kinetics of petrochemical wastewater were significantly different from those of municipal wastewater. and the optimum mixing ratio of normal and harzardous wastewater was 10%
