        인천광역시 남부권역에서 발생되는 생활쓰레기의 물리화학적 성상조사를 하였다. 수분의 함량은 생활쓰레기 내 음식물쓰레기의 혼입양에 따라 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 탄소와 수소성분이 가연분의 90% 이상을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 생활쓰레기의 고위발열량과 저위발열량이 각각 5,186~5,492 ㎉/㎏ 2,760~3,096 ㎉/㎏으로 분석되어 음식물쓰레기가 분리되고 재활용율이 증가함에 따라 발열량이 점진적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. The physical and chemical properties of Municipal Solid Waste(MSW) discharged from southern part of Incheon Metropolitan City is evaluated in this study. The moisture contents in MSW increased as the percentage of food in MSW increased, and over 90% of combustible components are Carbon and Hydrogen. The high heat value and low heat value of the wet base are 5,186~5,494 ㎉/㎏ and 2,760~3,096 ㎉/㎏ respectively. The heat value increased as more food wastes were separated from MSW and as the ratio of recycling was increased.

        하수재이용을 위한 총인처리공정과 오존산화공정의 기질처리특성 연구

        In this study, we installed a device for the reuse of sewage treatment water at the end of the total public sewage treatment facilitylocated in B city of Gyeonggi-do. The ozone oxidation process was composed of the following: a device for dissolving ozone; a non-contact plasma water treatment device; a reaction tank; and a discharge ozone treatment device. We constructed the ozone oxidation process in connection with the total phosphorus treatment facility to obtain stable sewage recycled water quality for secondary sewage treatment water, and studied the substrate removal characteristics according to ozone dissolution characteristics and ozone dosage. The CODremoval rate increased from 16.2% to 38.7% as the ozone dosage rate increased from 30 g/hr to 68 g/hr, averaging 0.41 gCOD/gO<sub>3</sub>. The BOD removal rate increased from 22.2% to 59.5%, and the amount of BOD removal (g) per g ozone ranged from 0.34 g/hr to 0.57 g/hr, averaging 0.43 g BOD/gO<sub>3</sub> under a flow rate of about 300 ㎥/day. The color removal rate was increased in proportion to the ozone dosage amount with the exception of the violet color, which tended to remain somewhat visible.

      • Evaluation of Pollutant loads at Inflow Streams under Ara Waterway Basin

        In this study, to evaluate the characteristics of the pollution in the major inflow tributaries and major environmental facilities in the watershed of Ara waterway, An inflow flow rate measurement and water quality analysis were conducted during dry and rainy seasons. In addition, the flow rate measurement, water quality analysis, and pollutant load at each monitoring point were compared and evaluated. Influx of BOD5, T-P and T-N into the tributaries of the ARA waterway watershed, excluding the Gulpo river watershed, during dry season were only 0.007%, 0.005% and 0.004% respectively of the incoming loads in the entire ARA waterway basin. In addition, it was confirmed that the discharge pollutant loads during rainfall event was about 440 times more for BOD5, about 545 times on T-P, and about 23 times on T-N in comparison to the pollutant loads during the dry days. When the Gulhyeon rubber dam was deflated, the discharged pollutant load during a rainfall was higher than the estimated load at the G7 monitoring point because the deposited pollutants from the upstream riverbed flowed down. Therefore, during a rainy season, it is necessary to manage the influx of high-load water pollutants from the overflow and deflation of the Gulhyun rubber dam as well as to find a strategy to reduce the pollutant loads in the Gulpo river watershed.

        착유세척수의 전처리를 위한 응집과 전해산화공정의 적용성 연구

        In this study, the characteristics of milking washing water generated in dairy farms and the treatment characteristics of the single process of electrolytic oxidation using an insoluble electrode module were investigated. The results of studying the applicability of the pretreatment process for biological post-treatment through the linkage process with chemical coagulation treatment using PAC(Poly Aluminum Chloride) 17% are as follows. As a result of analyzing the water quality behavior by measuring the reaction time of the milking washing water using an electro-oxidation process, suspended solids in the form of scum accumulated on the top of the electro-oxidation reactor and could be removed. In the case of total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, and color, it was found that treatment efficiency was almost proportional to the electro-oxidation time. When electro-oxidation was carried out in the state of almost no suspended matter after coagulation treatment, the removal rate of ammonia nitrogen by the insoluble electrode was found to be high. When configuring the milking washing water treatment system, combining the pre-coagulation process and the electrolytic oxidation process (as a pretreatment of the biological process) allowed reduction of the load of organic pollutants by about 60% and the load of ammonia nitrogen by about 90%.

        하수처리수의 3차처리를 위한 고도산화법(AOP)의 적용성에 관한 연구

        Ozone has been applied in combination with various processes for the tertiary treatment of municipal wastewater. However, in Korea, the ozone process is mainly employed for the reuse of tertiary treated wastewater, and an enhanced advanced oxidation process (AOP) is needed to realize the large-scale reuse of treated wastewater. In this study, various AOPs employing ozone (only ozone process, O<sub>3</sub>+H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, O<sub>3</sub>+UV, O<sub>3</sub>+GAC) were used to analyze the TOC, CODcr, and color treatment efficiencies of municipal wastewater and evaluate its applicability of wastewater reuse. The O<sub>3</sub>+H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> process showed the highest TOC removal efficiency of 62.0%, while the O<sub>3</sub>+GAC and only ozone processes exhibited the TOC removal efficiencies of 58.9% and 59.3%, respectively. The TOC removal pattern of the O<sub>3</sub>+UV process was similar to that of the O<sub>3</sub>+H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> process. The TOC removal efficiency of the O<sub>3</sub>+UV process, 61.0%, was slightly lower than that of the O<sub>3</sub>+H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> process. The CODcr removal efficiencies of the O<sub>3</sub>+UV and O<sub>3</sub>+H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> processes were 75.8% and 77.0%, respectively. However, the TOC and CODcr removal efficiencies were different within the error range, so there was no significant difference in the processing efficiencies of the methods investigated. The color removal efficiencies of the O<sub>3</sub>+UV (57.8%) and O<sub>3</sub>+H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> (57.4%) processes were 57.8%, 57.4%. respectively and it showed similar pattern.
