Rapid aging rate is expected to lead to changes in the society. In particular, current seniors and baby boomers age are the center of the new generation. The big difference between awareness and life patterns of the two groups are noticed. Therefore, this study was aimed at baby boomers and older generations, and it compared the recognition between new and old generations. This would suggest the direction of new elderly culture and older generations by investigating the recognition of the new age generation. The survey items were related to the retirement, old elderly culture, the sub-regions of the elderly, and the stylized image scale. The survey was made from October 2013 to December 2013 by distributing questionnaires targeting South Chungcheong Province. Answered sheets of 1046 were collected and 1037 responses with faithful answeres were analyizedn after abandoning ones with dishonest response. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 18 and T-test was used for frequency analysis, cross-tabs, analytics, etc. Conclusion of the study is as follows. New generation ready to retirement age has been relatively better prepared. Especially older generations showed a relatively low retirement preparation in social activities and recreation. Retirement is higher which is also available in the private sector. And another have been drawn to the conclusion that cooperation among spouses should be prepared for a retirement. This study reflects the cultural context and it also shows that the switch of the direction for the welfare problem of the elderly is necessary. For this purpose, it is needed to recognize transitions of older generations. In addition, the elderly welfare policies that reaffirms the value of older generations were presented.
