Unlike the turbines used in general gas turbines and aircraft engines, the radial turbines, referred to as expanders, are vary widely used in the industrial area. One of the most important factors for designing and manufacturing the expander with a wide variety of operating conditions is to predict more accurately the expander performance. For energy equipment manufacturers, it is very important to meet the performance targets presented to customers as well as to develop an expander with a good performance. The existing method for predicting the performance of expander (radial turbine) has a limitation. In this study, we proposed a more accurate method for predicting the performance of an expander. In addition, we tried to verify the accuracy by comparing numerical and test results.
