Fog interferes with the operation of various means of transportation and causes economic and time loss. Fog dissipation technology is needed to reduce the damage caused by fog. To improve visibility in fog, this study intends to observe the effect of improving visibility by creating fog inside a laboratory-scale chamber and seeding solid-carbon-dioxide with a size of 3mm pellet inside chamber. Variables consisted of three solid-carbon-dioxide weight : 500g, 1000g, and 1500g. From fog generation to dissipation, the effect of improving fog visibility by solid-carbon-dioxide was compared based on the images captured by the camera inside the chamber and the distance data obtained from the LiDAR(Light detection and ranging, LiDAR) sensor. As a result, it was proved through experiments that solid-carbon-dioxide has an effect of improving visibility on fog dissipation compared to natural dissipation in cold fog conditions.

As people use more energy, the demand for optimal centrifugal pumps have increased. Among various pump performance evaluation indicators, efficiency and NPSH3 are important factors that improve pump performance. So, the influence of V-cut configurations on the efficiency and cavitation of the double-suction pump was studied. V-cut was applied by modifying the impeller trailing edge so forming V-shaped cut at the impeller exit. By setting the vertex coordinates of V-cut as parameters, optimization was conducted. A numerical analysis was conducted using ANSYS CFX. Total 9 design points were designed using central composite design (CCD), one of the designs of experiment (DOE)techniques. Response surface method (RSM)was used to predict optimized V-cut design. We compared the NPSH3 point, where 3% of the total head decreases, to find the cavitation. In the optimized model, the efficiency was increased by 5.06% and cavitation was decreased.
