Relationships between aquatic physiochemical factors and population fluctuations of two species of net-spinning caddisflies, Cheumatopsyche brevilineata (Iwata) and Hydropsyche KUa, were examined in Kap`yong Stream, K`yonggi-do, Korea from 1988 to 1989. Annual mean value of the physiochemical factors in Kap`yong Stream presented pH 5.7, water temperature 13.3℃, conductivity 0.6㎷, DO 10.6㎎/ℓand BOD_(5days) 1.4㎎/ℓ. Annual mean density in the population of the C. brevilineata presented 210 individuals per 1㎡. In the case of H. KUa population, annual mean density presented 42.7 individuals per 1㎡. Analysis of the physiochemical factors that have an influence on population fluctuation employed correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis, ANOVA test and t-test. As a result of the deductive regression equation (P < 0.05), the independent variables of C. brevilineata population presented DO and water temperature. In the case of H. KUa population, DO, water temperature and pH were analyzed as the explanatory variables.
