In this paper, we proposed the configuration methods of waterside economizers in J-facility operated by Korea District Heating Corporation, and showed the effectiveness of energy savings according to the application of waterside economizers in district cooling system, Korea. The results are as followings. 1) Through the surveys about the configuration of cooling source systems in the facility and the operating conditions in winter season, the application of waterside economizers was expected to bring the effects of reducing energy consumption of chillers and pumps. 2) It was confirmed that the series configuration of the economizer and chiller was more efficiency, because it was possible the partial pre-cooling operations and was able to increase the operation time of waterside economizer. 3) We confirmed that the starting temperature of the economizer was 4.0 celsius degree in terms of energy savings. 4) It was analyzed that the energy consumption according to the application of waterside economizers in J-facility was decreased by approximately 20% compare to the current systems during the 5 months from November to March by the energy simulation with EnergyPlusV8.4.0.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate a load calculation method for underfloor air distribution(UFAD) and its energy saving potentials. For the load estimation in UFAD, heat gain factors which are human, equipment and lighting need to be identified. The design total heat gain for the first case, effective heat gain factor(EHGF) for the second case, and 65% of the total heat gain were applied. Other cases ara applied differently in lighting load. Energy simulation result show that the saves energy by 6% when compared to the first case.
