Although semiconductor industry in Korea is one of highest value-added ones, it became subject to environmental regulations since the 1990s due to environmental pollution. Subsequent to the strengthened regulation, each company has implemented their environment regulation measures. But studies on effectiveness of these measures are too rare. The purpose of this study is to analyze the environmental efficiency of display semiconductor industry. The target companies were selected from industry associations and companies were designated as management targets. Inputs are energy consumption and water usage, number of employees, and outputs are total amount of waste, oxygen-dioxide emissions, revenues and net income. The analysis of environmental efficiency was performed with the DEA, and the Undesired model which is one of the various DEA models was used to separately analyze output by dividing the output into Undesirable and Desirable outputs.
