최근 확산되고 있는 금융 자동화 업무에서 지폐 분류기, 지폐 정사기, 지폐 인식기, 현금자동입출금기 등이 자주 사용됨에 따라 많은 양의 현금 거래가 무인시스템을 통하여 이루어지고 있다. 대부분의 지폐 분류기, 지폐정사기, 지폐 인식기 등은 한 종류의 지폐만 계수하여 불편함이 있고, 현금자동입출금기 등은 대부분 만원권지폐만 사용가능하기 때문에 불편함이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 빠르고, 정확하며, 여러권종을 구분할 수 있는 권종구분 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 색상 정보와 크기 정보를 사용한 권종구분 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 본 알고리즘은 지폐의 일부분만을 사용하고 연산식이 간단하여 시스템의 속도가 빠르고, 2단계 권종구분으로 정확도를 높이고자 하였다. 그리고 지폐가 어떤 방향으로 삽입되던지 권종구분 이 가능하게 하였다. 권종구분 실험결과 제안한 방법이 93.6%의 정확도를 가지는 것을 확인하였다. Most of cash businesses are done through uninhabited systems such as denominator, discriminator, recognition machine and automated teller machine in the finance automated business. Denominator, discriminator and recognition machine are not convenient because it counts only a kind of banknote and automated teller machine is used for a 10000won kind. Therefore, we need an algorithm to discriminate kinds of banknote with real time image processing which is faster and more accurate. In this paper, an algorithm that can discriminate kind of banknote using information of color and size has been proposed. In the algorithm, calculating is simple, fast and accurate because just a part of banknote is used and discriminating is consist of 2 steps. To discriminate kind of banknote is possible even though a bank note is inserted any side of banknote. As the result of discriminating test, we confirmed that the propoused method is 93.6% accuracy.
