The multiaxial fatigue test under in-phase and out-of-phase load were performed to study what degradation phenomenon affects fatigue life with virgin and 3600 hrs degraded materials. The various kind of fatigue data for fatigue life prediction were acquired under pure axial and pure torsional load of fully reversal condition. The models which was investigated are: 1) the von Mises equivalent strain range, 2) the critical shear plane approach method of Fatemi-Socie(FS) parameter, 3) the modified Smith-Watson-Topper(SWT) parameter. The result showed that, fatigue life by material degradation are decreased and life prediction which was used the FS parameter is not conservative but the best result.

Crankshaft damper pulley bolt is to fix sprocket, sensing blade, damper pulley and air conditioner pulley to the crankshaft. If preload of crankshaft damper pulley bolt is reduced by some reasons, then the bolt occurs loosening, finally engine hesitation and acceleration inferiority occur by slip between crankshaft and sensing blade. Crankshaft damper pulley bolt is under torsional loading condition because of revolution resistance of the each auxiliary pulley caused by acceleration and deceleration of the crankshaft. This study investigates mechanism of reducing preload and loosening factor of crankshaft damper pulley bolt.

Monotonic torsional and pure torsional low cycle fatigue test with artificially degradation were<br/> performed on duplex stainless steel(CF8M). CF8M is used in pipes and valves in nuclear reactor<br/> coolant system. The method of artificially degraded is used thermal aging for 3600 hrs at 430℃ and<br/> specimens is thin-walled tubular. In order to inhibition, crack nucleation and growth of specimen inside<br/> was worked electrolytic-polishing. The mechanical properties of monotonic and low cycle fatigue are<br/> increased by effect of material degradation and transition fatigue life is decreased about 60%.
