The problem of the reliability on depending on the medium and large mechanical structures such as chemical plants and power generation facilitiess driving conditions become severe with time goes on are raised, in other countries, in order to solve these problems, inspection and residual life prediction for structures throughout the operation plan is prepared. The synthesis gas CO, H<SUB>2</SUB> obtained from coal gasification technology, can be used as the main ingredient in gas and liquid fuel. The steel SA387/11 and SA516/70 steel material as the material of reactor which produces synthesis gases are studied in this study. Compared to SA387/11 steel material, SA516/70s steel material hydrogen embrittlement and high-temperature oxidation are better which is the reason of SA387/11 steel material has a better durability compared to SA516/70 steel material.
